Ok so findings are... in g14 with all the new mp pots ... being able to be farmed everyday....
pretty much allot of mp for use EVERYDAY..
Now..
Spamming Mp pots with high mp max plus manashield rank 1 = allot of defense.. now.. you can pot...
but.. o wait theres potion poisoning....
But mp pots only hurt..Str when chugged... therfor...
archers can mass chug mp pots with manashield for infinite vitality...
Downside: needing to sit,trans, demi for stam
Alchemists... Same deal
Mages.... Hax... what mage.. needs stamina? anyways..just a thought..
Melee'ist gets shafted because wm takes stam (kills mp with manashield) ... it needs str... (so cant be poisoned) and Hp pots kill ur Will and Int... Will is for deadlying.. :/ and manashield's int bonus would go down the ****ter anyways

Farm? Magic still has the annoying upkeeps that Alchemy/Melee/Range don't have. You can always just go to NPC and buy HP/Stamina pots, but you have to work to farm magic.
Also, G14 adds more special upgrades, which means melee/range (maybe alchemy) will get stronger.

Forgive my ignorance and lack of knowledge on this subject, but how do meleers lose minimal MP when windmilling? I thought it was a HP drain only?

When using Mana Shield in combination with Windmill, the amount of HP deducted (10% of your max HP, or 2 HP, whichever is higher) is also deducted from your Mana Pool.

WM drains 10% of hp and 10% of MP if you're using mana shield
@thread and no, real meleers with capped mana shield will have a decent pool (200~300 ish) and with decent defense they'll be taking less than 50 dmg, if not less than 25 even on hard shadow missions. Already saw it, it happens
It takes around 20 mp 50s to start entering pot poisoning. Really, unless you intend to spam wm like one idiot. You shouldn't lose much MP out from it
Plus mana shield is to be used on pinch situations like when your hp is getting low from too much wming or from ganging. Not to be used 24/7

EDIT: upon further reading, windmill takes up 10% of your life upon action without mana shield activated, with mana shield activated it seems like you're just wasting said amount of mp (albeit very small at higher ranks and with a large mana pool). But I can perhaps see the advantages of having mana shield already preloaded if you accidentally wm against a mob with PD or Def already loaded... still, I kinda dont really see the point in activating MS while you're windmilling.

Just did a test, and it's that formula wrong or am i doing something wrong?
I have 328 hp and 188 mp with rN mana shield (0.5 efficiency), by that formula (328*0.1)/0.5 i should be using 65 mp per wm.
A quick test revealed i used not 65 but 32
