  this thread brought back memories of this survival show i watched,(cant remember name), where the guy was in the jungle and pulled this huge grub out of a tree and ate it :barf:

  First, I doubt they would suggest the idea unless it was considerably healthy. It's not like what we eat everyday isn't completely rid of diseases and other bad things anywho.
  
  Second, if they prediction DOES come true, you won't be able to afford anything but that 'crap' unless you're rich, lol.
  So it's not really "Would you eat it" it's more so "you're gonna have to eat it".

  If they do decide to do this, they'd have insect farms. It's not like they'd pick up any grub on the floor and serve it.

  Comparing a bug to cow flesh, you'd have to eat anywhere from 5 to 10 times as much bug mass as cow meat.
  
  Bugs are mostly 3 things: Shell (nutrition of almost 0), guts (higher nutrition, but still only about half as actual meat), and hemolymph (which is mostly non-digestible and in some cases toxic)
  
  The actual muscles of bugs make up less than 5% of their body mass, and their muscles aren't anything like a mammal's. It's more like a single thread, so even though that's probably the most nutritious part, there's hardly any. You'll be getting most of the protein from digesting the organs, which, compared to digesting muscle, you're not getting much.
