Before anyone asks, I HAVE asked my teacher for help. She tells me to check my book, but where that is getting me is even more stressed out and confused. So don't tell me to ask her because I'll just ignore it. Thanks.
I've been missing a lot of school lately due to doctor visits and whatnot. I got a bunch of work, but hers is the strangest because the things she teaches us are very different than the book. For instance, I did a problem as the book said but she then listed out to the side how SHE wanted it...
Well HELLO TEACHER! You told me to use the book and then don't give me credit when I DO?!
Anyway, here's the one page I'm having much difficulty on...
I'll post the next few pages later on :x
ALSO I'D LOVE TO POST ATTACHEMENTS.

2 and 3 are rather easy.
Are you asking us to do your homework or to help you do it? Have you even tried?

I have and I keep getting stuck at step three.
You can show me how to do 1 or 2 but if you can give me pointers for all, then I might be able to do them.

That is your Algebra 2 homework?
We learned this in Pre-Algebra. D| I WANT YOUR ALGEBRA CLASS.
I'll happily help if you use a different font. It's difficult to read.

1. I don't like graphing. It's dumb and I hate it. If you multiply either of the two equations by -1, you can use elimination.
2. Solve the second equation for x and use that to substitute. It'll be the easiest of the four to use.
3. It's just like getting a common denominator while using fractions. Choose either x or y, and multiply both of them by the opposite's coefficient. I recommend using y, it'll be easier.
4. Graphing. Lame.
5. You're gonna have to solve the system. Since they've already solved for y, just multiply the first system by -2 and use elimination.
If you get a single answer like 4 or 6, it is consistent and independent. If you get a statement that is always true, like 3=3 or 0=0 (most of the time you'll see 0=0), then it is consistent and dependent. If you get a statement that is always false like 2=5, it is inconsistent. (actually, I just looked at it, and without doing any math, it's clear that they're consistent and dependent. Doing what I said earlier will cancel everything out and you'll get 0=0)
6. Graphing. Lame.

Ferret, all x's are supposed to be to the right.
Unless you're telling me I was supposed to do that first? I can't tell.

You don't have to get all the x's to the right while you work with the equation. And it doesn't have to be x's, it can be y's as well.
Just move them to the right as your very last step, it'll make your life easier that way.
Give me a problem not on your homework and I'll show you what I mean.

ew so going by what my teacher likes us to do, this is what I get...mind you, I've yet to try your recomendations.
1. y=-1x-4 y=-1/2x+2
2. y=-1.5x+3.5 y=0.25x+5.25
(-3/2) (-7/2) (-1/-4) (-21/-4)
3. y=-4/-5x-2/-5 y=-3/2x-13/2
(0.8) (0.4) (-1.5) (-6.5)
And the rest is....meh....
Here's some graph's for ya too.

What is this thread for then?
And I'm not following what you wrote after that.

I meant I haven't tried it yet at the time.
I did try it though....but she told me it was wrong o.O
Also, the bit after is what I got following her formulas.

Well I don't have a pencil near me, otherwise I'd actually work them out so I could tell you the answers.

It's okay, you're doing perfectly fine xD

That's pre-algebra or algebra I work...
1)
x+y=4
+x-2y=1
-y=3
x=7
And too lazy to do more >:D
Substitution is ez pz though, elimination is the stuff I used for #1, and graphing is just graphing. For the rest of the stuff though(latter problems), I'm too lazy to explain :D
