Getting pissed off at steam (L4D2)

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. Everytime I run L4D2 tonight I get booted in the loading screen
"Unable to verify steam ID"
and when I try joining an existing game
"Connection Blocked: Please remove plug-ins before attempting to connect to a VAC secure server"
what the f*ck
It happened yesterday and restarting steam and L4D2 fixed it
but now that didn't work
I don't wanna reinstall because last time it almost took 7hours D:
anyone know whats wrong?

Have you tried the age old delete registry.blog trick?

You can also verify your files to make sure you aren't missing anything.

If you have an plugins or maps, probably be best to delete them or move them for now until you get it working again
