As your total level increase, you'll have more AP to spend on skills and you will generally get stronger.
When you get stronger, you will kill things faster and finish TMS and SMS faster.
Right now, in my opinion, spamming Their Methods is still faster than TMS in avon.
Well I admit I hear that is the best method of exp/leveling, I'm an archer mainly so WMing a ton doesn't suit me very well :s I haven't really even tried their method spamming

I cant do TM hardmode yet (which is the best profit for me). But I am going to try guardian of avon HM, once the mait is done and people have parties.
I think New King's Request with full fire elements is easier than Guardian of Avon, since you'll do more damage and half the mobs are spiders lol. The boss is also a LOT easier than the annoying grim reaper. The rewards are about the same with the bonus that in New King's Request you can get snow webs from the spiders if you're lucky

True, and full fire set. Would that not make the ice hurt more.. would it not have to be all ice on your equips to make the damage less?

All ice on your stuff will also make you do less damage to them.

If you are melee or range, go full fire. your fire-element melee/range attacks will do more damage to ice enemies, and you shouldn't be getting hit in the first place for their extra damage to matter.
If you are mage or alchemist, go full ice because you'll be using firebolt/fireball/flame burst which will remain a fire attack regardless of what your gear sets your element too. and being ice element will make things hurt you less on the off chance something does hit you (which should still never happen).

I got to level 80 easily within 3 days... and that was through playing with others and having fun, rather than the usual solo mindless grinding at Tara.
This
Best way to lvl is have fun or have a lvl partner that even makes grinding fun. I easily get to lvl 80-100 every rb that way

Well poop, I can hardly stand to farm Their Method for wm training for more than 10 runs. Oh well it looks like I will have to wait 6 weeks instead of three for my r1 wm.
Well, unfortunately for you, when it comes to training efficiency, it ultimately means that your available range of options gets smaller as you aim to be more efficient. In other words, if you're seeking maximum efficiency, you have minimal options. Their Method (Adv. or higher) might be mind-numbingly repetitive at times, but it does get the job done, and it does sufficiently line your wallet. If you're steadfast, you can ensure a level an hour even as you approach 80. But yeah, your greatest hindrance for that is that you're not at R1 WM. Take it from me: if you do break 80, try to see how much farther you can go without stopping; it will put things in perspective. Highest I got was 120 from Their Method spam. And lemme tell you: at that point in time you're getting slightly more than 3% per run *eyes twitching*. But I just had to see if there were any more journal achieves past 100. There aren't. :(
An additional thing you can take up is winemaking for bonus xp and a change of pace. Usually, you'll get about the same amount of xp from a wine turn in as one Their Method Adv. run (more or less depending on the quality of your wine), and the shadow missions scrolls you get offer missions that grant more xp than their Their Method counterpart at each difficulty range.

Well....if you solo scc adv you get:
36000 exp from finishing the mission
21000 exp from the boss
6650 exp from the mid-boss
On average, the bronze mobs will give 15167
On average, the silver mobs will give 16567
On average, The gold mobs will give 19366
(Numbers were gotten by averaging the exp from the 3 types of mobs together, dividing by 3 and multiplying by 20 since there are 4 waves and 5 mobs per wave)
Overall, you get around 108100 exp per run.
Assuming you do free rbs every 3 weeks,
Soloing 3 times a day gets you to almost lv 64 every rb
4 times -> almost lv 70
5 times -> just over lv 74
8 times -> just above lv 85
EDIT: This assumes you got to lv 20 exactly from rafting.

That's true. But do consider while SCC is soloable, it was initially intended as a party mission, making soloing it considerably more demanding on the player than would otherwise be the case in a group. Soloing it, the xp is actually 1.5x that of a Their Method run of the same difficulty level. 2-manning is actually roughly equivalent to each person soloing Their Method individually. So, if you can solo SCC in less than 15 minutes, it is a better xp rate than soloing Their Method in 10. But I feel that SCC soloing caters more to magic, alchemy (golem and non-golem) and ranged, whereas Their Method caters exclusively to melee and golem alchemy. Melee soloing of SCC is feasible and can be done in decent times, but comes with much less room for error. Their Method for melee, on the other hand, can achieve improvements in time per mission with far more ease and far less resources. Fully upgraded non ego swords, R1 Critical, R1 Windmill, R1 Combat Mastery, 180+ Str, fully upgraded dual wield swords (no ego required) and a high rank of sword mastery should ensure 3-shots of zombie soldiers non-crit and 1-shot crits of said zombies on advanced non-trans. No real enchanting required, either.
Now, Jiri's solo vid of SCC HM in 10 mins is indeed a thing of beauty. But I also believe soloing Their Method HM in 6-7 mins is just as feasible but without a need for the pet manipulation.

Well I'd say if you did party with another person, cut it in half.
3 cut in 1/3
4 cut in 1/4
etc. etc. etc.

Your math would be wrong. Since the mission clear reward does not get divided, you'd subtract that before doing any division. 108100 total - 36000 reward = 72100 xp. Now, these numbers are going to be off because they assume the xp is all combat and not battle participation, but if the mission were split between two people, it goes down to 36050 from kills, which totals 72050 xp in a 2-man of SCC Advanced. Their Method Adv. is 72000 total from kills and mission reward. The difference is that 2 people running SCC reduces the time spent running the mission. I don't know many people though who share the same endurance of tedious repetition that I do, so 2-man spam is not an option for me, lol. And as I said, if it's solo. I'd rather spam Their Method anyway.

sakraycore wrote on 2011-02-02 16:04
pretty much just spamming. and doing the hardest difficulty isn't always the best choice.
say if you can clear int SCC in 5 minutes, you'll need to clear adv in less than 10 minutes and hard in less than 15 minutes to make it worth it.

I included battle participation in my calculations. I also made a scc hm duo version
In short, cuz I was lazy, you would get 144,467 exp if you duo (battle participation included). It would take 102 runs total to get to lv 80 assuming that you got to lv 20 from rafting, which i forgot to mention for my other post. I'll edit that in. Takes 21 days if you do 5 runs a day.
