Usually people think I am rude for telling them I have rules before I run a party dungeon or SM with them. I keep trying to tell them they are in place to make it less stressful on a person who might be weaker than them, but here are my rules and how I like to dungeon run.
Rules:
1.Come prepared- Make sure you have the following checklist before you enter a dungeon.
a. All your healing items such as hp,stam, and mp pots ready to go and in your inventory.
a-2. If you run out and have some on a pet, we will stop and let you get them out.
b. Bring a lot of feathers, not just a stack of ten. You never know when someone will die so bring at least fifty. Also bring at least one-hundred bandages.
c. If you do not use naos, and your stuff may get un-blessed. Please keep ten hw in your inv just in case you do die.
d. (Optional but I do it anyways.) Bring 5 or more firewood, as someone may have food to share, we may need to sit and rest to recover, or we need it to prevent attacks from a boss.
e. You are in your combat/ dungeoning/ SM running gear, and it is blessed/repaired.
f. Your bladder is empty, and you have a snack that is easily accessible. It may be a long run, so I understand if you need to refresh your drink/ empty your bladder/ get another snack.
2. What you should not do.
a. Run off and open chests to spawn monsters in rooms ahead of the party.
b. Complain about your own death if you do so.
c. Insult someone if they die too much. A joke is okay, but plain insulting them over and over again is rude, and ruins the fun.
d. Open the spawn chest before everyone is ready in the room.
3. What you should do.
a. Watch out for your party members. If two monsters are on them and you have no monster, take the one they are not attacking.
b. Call out when you are going to charge an adv magic before we open the chest. That way you will not waste mp on a dead room before charges are done.
c. Stop when someone calls for an afk, we want everyone to get the best exp possible, and the most fun.
c-2. If this upsets you, we can take a heal break if people are wounded and need heals.
d. Have fun.
3. Heal breaks will commence when 2 ( in a 4-5 person party) or 4( in 6-8 party) people are at half or more wounds. The next spawn may kill them and that is not fun.
4. Use common sense (oxymoron I know).
----
Now that you have possibly read it, I can understand if you call me a jerk or something. Possibly order Nazi, but even when someone else is leading I make sure to go by my rules. Even if everyone else is running ahead of me, while I heal someone who died and has no naos.:ran_guy1:

I agree with these. I really don't like it when someone gets on their mount and solos a bunch of rooms without everyone else :c it's not fun for the rest of us.
EDIT: plus, if you wanted to solo it, you shouldn't have joined the party xD

People still do dungeons? D:
What with the freedom of SMs I've forgotten how much of a pain it was to not be able to heal wounds with rest, or to have to open chests when you're prepared instead of just waltzing up to a spawned group of monsters. :p
Also, I'm a HEALER and I never bring 50 freaking feathers, Jesus tap-dancing Christ. D:
100 bandages is a hella lot too. xD
Well, I keep a lot on my pets, but not in inv. xD

3.Usually i never get heal breaks since people have no patience to wait for others to heal up.
4. Trust me....probably more than 50% of the people playing Mabinogi have no common sense.

Well of course, but my main rule is to not run off ahead. If you die (and have no naos) after running off and trying to clear a room or orb, I will not revive you.

ugh yeah I was in this kind of situation before o.e I was running Rabbie with some friends because they were around level 20-something and wanted some exp, so I decided to help them out and run Rabbie with them. Well there was this one guy in the party who was being such a jerk to me and one of my friends. My friend kept getting hurt and since I was the one with the highest healing rank in the party, I stayed and healed everyone who needed it :/ then the guy kept getting mad because he didn't want to stop. I finally snapped and said "fine you go on ahead, but if you die, I'm not reviving you."
so he did, and sure enough, he died -_- and I didn't give a rat's arse because he was being a jerk :/
People seriously need to learn patience in this game...

Nice list I suppose. Personally i kind of hate party dungeoning or well any form of run. Unless it's unbelievably difficult... I see zero point to me bringing people with me. Very few people have i ran with that i stay synced with and this has most commonly occurred as a duo nothing more. I like to do everything myself.. everything.
I NEVER have bandages or feathers on me, never. It's always a pain when i run things with people because i don't think of it. Since I joined circle i'm trying to remember to keep at least 10 on me somewhere. It's not going as well as i hoped. Honestly since Iria came out i just haven't really done anything but G3 finals and G1 finals with anyone but myself.
If i do happen to have people wishing to train with me i will usually ask them ahead of time what they wish to train then assist them. I'll help teach combos or other such strategy if the person is still unknown to it. If they know what they are doing and just wish for a look at how they are doing i will usually let them fight mroe so than me to see how they fare. I'm a boring guy when it comes to dungeons and SMs, it always means training. I like to teach others what i know, makes me feel less useless. At the same time though i never nit pick unless someone wants me to nit pick.
...Unless it's a stupidly low dungeon that is ran naked or a stupid hard dungeon ran with many able bodied people.

I have a hotkeyed pet that I designate as my "medic pet" and have done so since the very beggining. For the longest time this was Ykei, my albino king snake. Later on I replaced him with Glitterstorm, my rainbow sprite because it has more MP.
My medic pet has at all times: 1 pet revival kit, 1 stack of party feathers, 1 stack of adv feathers, 4-7 stacks of regular feathers, 6-10 stacks of bandiads, 2 stacks of campfire kits, 2-3 stacks of wound pots, a stack of antidote pots, and as many spare hp30's as will fit in the remainder of its inventory. I keep 1 stack of regular feathers, 1 stack of HW, and enough hp pots/sp pots/mp pots on hand to complete several dungeons/missions in a row. My gear is always 100% blessed at all times, and typically well repaired too. And I have spare weapons/wands/stuff in other pets just in case.
If I run with others, I expect them to have a decent supply of their own potions, around a stack of feathers, and maybe some bandaids and hw too.
I've never expected people to get a snack and empty their bladder before a run, but I probably should. It never fails if I run with randoms -someone- afks. Every. Single. Time.

Okay, I really want to go dungeon running with you now.
With the exception of extremely difficult runs, I think the amount of feathers and bandages you're asking is a tad bit extreme, but I agree with you wholeheartedly on pretty much everything; this is exactly how I like to run things as well.
Throughout my entire Mabi career, I've always said that your combat effectiveness consists of three factors:
- Skill ranks
- Equipment
- Preparedness
In other words, if you come to a dungeon unprepared, you're sacrificing one gigantic chunk of your efficiency. I always make sure I'm stocked up on feathers, bandages, and potions before I go on any run. Unfortunately, during the three years that I've been playing this game, I've never met anyone who runs dungeons the way I do. Even my own guild likes to run ahead on thoroughbreds and destroy everything, which is fine and all, but if somebody needs to heal, they're on their own. I personally really dislike playing this way as the resulting deaths can really frustrate me at times.
The way I like to dungeon is essentially the same as yours. I try to make sure that both myself and my party members are mostly free of wounds and have most of their HP before I tackle the next room. You're really not losing much by taking a few seconds to stop and heal everyone, as that's only going to make things run smoother in general.
If you're ever running anything, please let me know - I'd like to play my way for once.

I have several methods of fighting and prefer the party to act in such a manner.
1. Party healer method.
Rules:
a. Protect the party healer IE me. I am probably always untransed for party healing master effect.(this is normally not the case since I can use pets while healing, but make it a priority to kill something near me rather then a random target)
b. Dark knights only. Infinite trans at the cost of tons of mana, we must either be fighting golden apple boss hm, or you all better be dark knights and only retrans to re roll stats.(This is why I rarely become a support role since this is almost never the case)
c. Melee classes. I only really use Party Healing if I am in a group of melee users who also often WM, If its so much a bother to cordinate magic in a group of melee users, or if the melee users are actually all very good, I heal. This is a meathod I love to, but rarely get the chance to do since I often do more damage in all other methods.
2. Thunder magic method.
a. Don't wm groups appart..
b. Don't smash something 2 - 3 seconds in stun time of being thundered.
c. Don't ice spear unless you know what you are doing and do good damage with it
3. Fire magic method 1(fast cast or 20% mp reduction wand)
a. Don't separate groups with wm before the first fireball... Unless you can crit for 10k, don't sacrifice a good mid point for fireball so you can proff your wm. You can wm after the fireball is in air~ Basically prof on your own time, I am here to kill, not help your sword or wm skill.
b. Don't smash something before fireball hits.
c. Don't ice spear.
d. if you do low damage, either group with wm/smash together or protect the person with the ability to 1 hit dozens on monsters at once but needs a few seconds to charge if in mid battle.
4.Fire magic method 2(ego)
Same as #3 but normally without the need to protect since with CC I can manage my own after the fireball.
5. Fire alchemy method.
a. Don't wm things out of my full charge flame burst if you do bad damage.
b. Don't smash things at the begging on a full charge flame burst unless its nearly 1 creature and you can kill it with that smash, I don't like canceling flame burst to re-defend a new aggro target onto you/me because after full charge fire I can use a minor alchemy skill then heat buster. So in sense, you ruin nearly 2 good skills.
c. Don't firebolt or water cannon my initial targets in the same manner as B.
d. Same rules as 3 if I am using alchemy fireballs. I normally use them only if they can kill or near kill. I can make R2 ones myself.
*e. Only applies if I am using a tower cylinder. Protect the person unable to move so they can do increasive damage~
6. Earth alchemy method.
a. If in adv area and you do terrible damage, your job is to protect the person doing all the damage or wm with the person doing all the melee damage to protect the golem and its limited skills.
b. If a barrier spike is in place at a corner and you do good damage, don't even go near my corner if your wm happy.
c. If your an archer/mage, go to my corner AFTER I put up a barrier, otherwise your in the way. And with the ability to have something you can shoot over and protect yourself, its best you do so for both your and my safety, use some common sense if you fight one target at a time and use
d. After each end spawn, stick around for the golem user to finish off anything that wasn't finished off by them. If your going to all run off the second a room is done rather then heal up AND get finish exp for me bolting the remaining dozen targets, then just set rule to All to Finish so the exp can actually go to something rather then cut my exp by 7/8ths. (there are many exceptions to this, trans, demi, speed runs, bad mob exp..)
7. Demigod form method.(The only method I am not so patient in, with actual reason)
a. Don't EVER smash targets which are stun-locked with my shadow spirit skill. Wm or normal attack if you must.(Smash cancels shadow spirit)
b. Don't smash targets who have recently been hit with Wings of rage.
c. Finish your downed targets if you have nothing else better to do. I like the ability to absorb actual downed creatures when using shadow spirit.
d. We are no longer in a slow pace mode, keep up and don't pick up any keys unless your the one out of the door first. having a limited god mode with god skills is an Actual reason to go fast.
And an overall rule:
Don't talk to the person normally doing all the work if its not important. If I am switching between alchemy fireballs and golems, demi forming and using Shadow spirit and in a rush, or healing while defending myself, just assume I am using R1 skills then asking, nothing is more annoying then accidentally using demi or untransing demi because I was answering a dumb question, or using the wrong cylinder for barriers/golems/fireballs because I need to think about answering you while in mid battle or mispossitioning myself in falias runs because I am organizing 7 other people in positions while most likely getting ready to practically solo a side myself. Don't over think the leader with more then they have on their plate. I might have R1 skills and be very good, but I do make mistakes, especially if I am talking to to you about such and such while watching out for me and the group.
(On that note I should probably set demi to the Z key or something rather then A since most my sentences start with A... "Aye, Alright, ah, ...") >.>
Normally, I am one of the strongest, if not strongest of a group, so take into consideration that most of this isn't out of rudeness, its just plain fact that I am normally doing the most damage. If you don't do good damage or get in the way, turn your role into a support role. Group monsters together with wm then separating them for the mage. Protect the person doing damage to groups rather then soloing a target you put out of the kill radius. If you want to proff your weapon/skills, do it on your own time, don't lengthen a groups time and increase a the supplies needed(mp pots) If I am around a full group of Melee users who are high rank Wmers and smashers, I don't want them to follow my fireball rules, I switch to golem or party healing once my mana is near or below 300(mana stones) When in Golden apple hard and I realize I do terrible damage because I cant kill with adv magic easly or bolts or alchemy, and I realize people cant protect me because the mass amount of creatures, I switch to party healing and become a support role if it best benefits a group. Just because you don't have healing skills or support skills doesn't mean you cant support. Its better you do near no damage and help the high damage users then do mid damage and get in the way of high damage users.
People need to know when they are best in damage roles, or support roles. To many people in mabinogi think just because they use a sword, they have to be the damage role, and mages have to be the support role. We are well past G1.
