Recommend me one? I have a sudden desire to play Oni again, but my PS2 is stored somewhere in my basement, and I don't really feel like getting it out and plugging it in just for an hour of gaming.

I don't believe I know of one that runs well.
I had a working one but it ran straight from the processor and didn't use the graphic card so it ran like 50%.

PCSX2 is the only good PS2 emulator. The problem is that your computer needs to be at least moderately good to run most of the games.

And even then, a good number of the games are glitchy at best, so it's probably better to just go down into the basement and hunt down your system. Any true gamer should have all of their consoles in their primary room for gaming for ready access.

I read that you also must be able to get a certain file that's only available from your ps2.

Like a BIOS? You can download whatever BIOS you need from the internet. You just need to type in "pcsx2 bios".

another thing is that PS2 emulators were made to run "effectively" ONLY with Core 2 Duo
