I thought the Grudge/Juan movies were scary, even though they didn't make sense.

I remember I was like 11 or 12 when we went to see Grudge, my mom freaked out more than I did, **** my sister had her head inbetween the foldable chair cushions in the theater

Not sure if you're a fan of Asian horror movies, but I've always liked the Whispering Corridors movies. Wishing Stairs and Blood Pledge are my favorites. There's an asian horror movies webpage where you can stream like hundreds of movies for free. Not sure if I can post the link. It's got some gruesome pics.

Hahaha, my mom was like that. I just sat in our armchair and quietly hugged a pillow.
Uh, apparently
The Strangers was scary. It's a terror movie, and I'm not quite a terror fan. More of a horror fan. But my mom was scared for weeks afterwards.
I remember When A Stranger Calls was pretty scary. More so the 1978 version, not the 2006 version.
I thought
Black Christmas was scary too.

Saw is not a "scary" movie nor should it be labeled as "horror". It is a gore film. Not horror. People seem to confuse the two nowadays, which makes for really ****ty movies.

Go with the Asian Horror films, I personally love them. Ju-On was much better than the American Version "Grudge".

Those were both very good.
I recommend Reincarnation. I didn't necessarily think that it was "scary" but it was an interesting watch.
