r5 is where Crash Shot starts to show it's true power. That's when the loading time goes down to 2 seconds and the explosion damage to other monsters is 200%. You can raft with lower ranks, such as rB like someone on these forums did, but it's much easier with r5 Crash Shot thanks to the shorter loading time.

The fact that Crash Shot has an area of effect makes it at least situationally useful at any rank.
As far as rafting and general use are concerned, r5 is generally considered to be the most important rank for Crash Shot as the damage, range, load time and target count are all significantly improved. r1 Crash Shot is definitely the pinnacle of the skill but you'll need to rank stamina and mana boosting skills in order to use it more than a couple of times.
"The Crash Shot Master" title is probably the best title for Human Rangers. That's the real stopping point.

I beg to differ.

Why did you even bother posting? Would you kindly explain yourself?

r1 Crash Shot is the place you want to stop at (not that you can advance any further) due to the increased radius and target.
The title itself isn't that good as it only adds 10% splash damage. It is better to use other +damage/dex titles since it helps your other skills as well.
I don't even see why would anyone even suggest that Crash Shot title is the best for archers.

Because that's only useful if you're constantly splashing 6 mobs, and only using crash shot.

i only use that title when im doing stage missions and rafting because im sure to do a nice splash. Now for overall use id rather use shadow hero or saved the goddess for increased def / crit
As for CS for rafting r9 is good, r5 is awesome, r1 is godly

Blacksmith Master is the best overall range title for both races... Stage+Fire Arrow is a more attainable combination for humans.
Bow Master title gives a total of 10 max damage once the skill is implemented, so there's also that to consider.

As your max damage gets higher, wouldn't that 4% from Shock Master title be better and better?
Since you have 400 max damage from your SS, 4% from Shock Master title gives +16 more max damage.

Why use the title for rafting? Even without the title, couldn't you kill them in one shot all the time?

Stage
+10 Dex
+10 Max Damage if using "the Fire Arrow" title
+10% Balance if using "the Noob Elemental Master" title
+6% Repair Cost
+
The Fire Arrow
Dex +5, Int +5
Max Stamina +5
Str -5
Max MP -5
=
+15 Dex
+10 Max dmg
+ 5 Intelligence
+5 Max Stamina
-5 Strength
-5 Mana
ie: +16 Max Damage
[Oblivion]
+8 Max HP
Max Dmg +10 if level 20+
Luk -15
+
The Crash Shot Master
Stamina +20
Dexterity +10
Mana +20
Crash Shot Splash Damage +10%
Strength -25
=
+10 Dexterity
+10 Max
+20 Dexterity
+20 Mana
+10% Crash Shot Splash Damage
+8 HP
-25 Strength
-15 Luck
ie: +14 Max Damage, -3 Critical
The key here is that whenever you do use Crash Shot...and if you're a Human that should be all of the damn time, you'll deal 10% more damage (with the exception of the initial hit). That's 40 extra damage per target at 400 max damage. It's also 6-36% more damage to the initial target. You also get a pretty decent amount of mana and stamina.
That's how I see it right now.

MP and melee hobos. I still lack some ranged skills so not at full dex yet

Nah there's much more than just numbers on Mabinogi, and only countless experiments (which equates often to experience) will teach you why one thing is superior to another.
1) You do not need extra damage from the title if you can already one shot them in critical hit without the title, which means you can probably kill them all in 2~3 regular Crash Shots + AR if needed. +10% is not a deciding factor for the damage to be 1 shotted or 2 shotted without critical hits.
2) You only initiate with Crash Shot. Crash Shot can be chained with good controls, but factoring in the variables such as pet being agroed and dying, position lag, and of course, missing, Crash Shot to initiate and either switching to Windmill to clear off or AR is even faster and more efficient than Crash Shot->Crash Shot.
3) I don't wear Master of Crash Shot title unless that's the only thing I'm doing (SCC range-only-run, in Peaca Int, Sulfur Spider to name a few). Neither do I wear the Fire Arrow often - I can tell you I got my Stage set up just for the sake of having the perfect Human archery set. I prefer Master of Thunder for mana and int with dex or even Wyvern Hunter for whenever I'm Crash Shot+Windmilling.
But then again, one said that "Titles are for the weak". Not that I agree, but something to think about.

Best at Rank 5, agreed, not only the Dex, but. I like it at Rank 1, because then you don't have to worry about the training later since it does require ranked mobs for training, sort of like Windmill.
