Title. I'm having trouble with different training spots for rank 8, and trying to find a suitable one to last from maybe 8-5 then 5-1
Exclude TNN Zombies because I know i need to go to them for boss kills.

Try Shadow Missions, or dungeons such as Albey for training. Or even do dungeons with -CP if you need such as Math dungeon for the kills.
As of Shadow mission, do Their Method (Kinda like TNN zombies but weaker.), or Shadow Warrior <Your respective level.>

I grinded from 4 - 3 today. It was hell.
I was at like 40.00 and it took like .. 4 hours with destiny to get to 100% (TNN zombies are awful to me)
It was da hell!
Luckily, I had friends who helped me. Turn to anyone to finish and let them kill some. Then you kill, etc.

I'd recommend Int.+ for r7 or so Windmill, though.
Depending on your CP.

When I was a newb at total level 100, I got Rank 1 WM on my elf by using my overly tofu fed bears to pile finishes up for me with the pet auto finish rule disabled/use party and set rule to anyone for finish.
Then, I used a -CP Arc Lich Gladius to WM the rest on mongooses by Qilla, since I already had Golem Slayer with a single blow with Rank F Magnum for elf on the Basic mission of Other Alchemist, for base Str, so I could KO mongooses at 70 Str with a upgraded warhammer despite being a low leveled elf from Ranks 4-1.

Rabbie and Longa Emerald(as well as other arrows) are great for awfuls and strongs.

Just do Longa Normal and get the drops of those arrows from the end boss.
For Rabbie, none specific item is needed unless you wanna do Basic.

I found that WM the black wolves north of Tir was decent. They're pretty close together and depending on your CP you can adjust them to strong and awful pretty easily. The drops are okay (MP 30 potions) and you really don't have to risk dying since out of 300 wolves, roughly four went deadly. You can always have a inventory pet protect you if this happens but 90% of the time, you can load WM before they retaliate. That and along with the fact that NO ONE is competing with you for kills made it a pretty painless experience.

With two-reasonably upgraded swords and an Ice-enchanted set, Rundal Normal or Rabbie Basic (especially Rabbie Basic) is an amazing Windmill experience for awfuls and multiple strongs. if you do it early enough, it can even provide you with nice boss kills (Red Succubus should be boss to you for a LONG time if your CP is somewhere around 500). Laghodessas are easily manipulated into groups because of how their AI functions, and there are no skeleton wolves but plenty of mimic pits. And best of all, skeletons, skeletons, skeletons galore. When it starts becoming hard to obtain Rabbie passes and/or regular armored skeletons start appearing as same level, it's time to move on. By then, Their Method or TNN becomes a lot more desirable. I would say Rundal Normal/Rabbie Basic until WM hits Rank 5. Then go start hunting zombies.

Wild plateau boars if they are Strong ~ boss
Seriously, if you have a shield, they do like 1 damage, and theres so many of them that you can windmill those pigs all day.
Plus they drop those fomor scrolls which can be used to get 9k, and they have 550 exp per kill which is easy leveling from 1 ~ 30.
