How is this a "case study" if its just your opinions and thoughts?
Case study - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is more like, "Female Gamers: Kotaku said it so it must be true"

where is the link to this article?
Kotaku is usually a reporter, not a blogger.
So studies are what Kotaku is reporting
not what is done by kotaku themselves.

The Difference Between 'Female Gamers' and 'Gamer Girls' - Girl Gamers - Kotaku
I put the first quote in google.
edit: Reading this, it's just one girl's take on the rest of the community. And according to her, girls all want in on a 'secret boy's club'. Yeah, sorry to put down another girl but that's bogus.
I had no idea games were supposed to be so homogenous and exclusive.

Kotaku themselves did not say anything about girls or even conducted the studies
They're referencing to another article which did this study.

OP referenced Kotaku *shrug*

Well, the cat is pointing out the OP's mistake in referencing sources.
Kotaku is very respectable for its news.

Although too many gamers who play as girls.
Oh, and every preteen girl on mabi thinks shes bi.
lol even though its not "every" i kinda have to agree on this... its like I talk to ppl and there are a lot of self proclaimed "bi"s in the game even though I'm pretty sure theyr just thinking they are because of the peers or something. just my opinion.

Nexon had a proper poll on their mabinogi website a while ago, cbb looking for the link though
Order of popularity
Males playing male character
Females playing female characters
G.I.R.L
Girls playing guy characters
Surprising, aye?
-
Shirayuki wrote on 2010-05-10 11:27
Most of the G.I.R.L.s that I knew did it mostly for cosplay/better outfit purposes. I guess it's easier for a girl(character) to show off their money compared to a guy(character)...And there are barely any outfits capable of cosplaying a male anime/manga character.

Shouldn't this be in entertainment/spam forums? :XD:

No because we are talking about female gamers in correlation to Mabinogi. :L

I'm a female and I play as a guy character o_O Well, used to on Mabi. (Recently RBed into a girl due something that happened not too long ago)
I play as a guy on most games 'cause they usually have better clothing and stuff. And I'm a tomboy IRL, so I'm not into girly things :x

Yeah, whenever a fat guy character ran through Dunby it usually had like 2 or 3 people running behind capslocking "LOOK, IT'S A FAT GUY."
