For those of you who don't know who I'm talking about, he was the author of the Redwall series. I read almost every single book in this series when I was in the sixth grade, makes me sad that he's passed on.

Wow, this sounds like a great series, I can't believe I hadn't heard of it.
What order do you read them in, though?
The order in which they were written, or the chronological order?
(reminds me of the Haruhi series, and how it was ordered)

That sucks :(
I loved this series as a kid. It was the first big novel series I read.

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved his books when I was in fifth and sixth grade. Just recently I've been thinking about taking them up again...
This just saddened my day. :(

Er...you know that's a good question. I can't remember currently but I know a lot of books tie-in with each other. Other than that I suppose you could read them as stand-alone's and be slightly confused.

Really just start with Redwall and then pick ones that interest you. That's how I did it and I always enjoyed them. You'll read one and then find out that another book is the history behind it or that it furthers another character's story or whatever. That's what makes it exciting.
Don't read while hungry though. He always describes supper time extensively. Pages and pages about the yummy food these critters eat. It's crazy sometimes!
Taggerung was my person favorite. I couldn't put that one down.

I personally really loved the Outcast of Redwall. You're so right about the food part though XD He gives great detail to many things.

I've never even heard of that one! I'll have to check it out. I looked at the intro and it sounds great. That's another great thing about the Redwall series. It seemed like every time I went to the book store there were books in the series I had never seen before!
Seems there's even a new one coming out in May. The last one I guess :(

Where the hell have you been?
This guy more or less conquered all of young readers nationwide for the longest time.
I mean, Redwall even got its own animated series.
This guy wrote so many books and they were all successful.

I wasn't a huge fan of Redwall, but his Castaways of the Flying Dutchman series in particular was EXCELLENT.
