Right now I'm pretty sure ( based on the wiki) that I can't overgrade my bastard sword, so I'm thinking off making an ego of it to replace my crappy tanto ego (don't ask what I was thinking making that). Anyway, before I go ahead with it, I notice that in G14, certain weapons will be able to be over graded and I'm wondering ifBastard swords are to be added to this list any time soon?

I haven't seen anything about B@stard swords getting special upgrades in g14. I'm assuming you're a windmiller and that's the reason why you want to ego your b@stard sword?

Right now I'm actually more of an alchemist. But I want to make something special of this sword since it's all black and looks much better than the white tanto I emntioned above. But I do abuse windmill a lot since their method is my primary method of training

Yeah I haven't seen anything about bast swords getting special upgrades in the future. I do know they are one of the better 1h egoes if you can't afford muramasa NX repairs (or the sword itself). Then again if you can't afford the repairs/sword it's probably a safe bet you can't feed it... however if you want to ego it just so that you never lose it, that's a possibility.

Since you're an alchemist, that would mean that you'd want to rank golem eventually. What rank is it if I may ask and do note that golem windmill can often be better than human/giant/elf windmill because of the huge radius. By all means though, if you do choose to make the sword ego, just promise me to make it worthwhile. I know too many people who make an ego, get it's stats to the 15's and then don't do crap too it afterwards. "Ego's are so expensive." I just tell them to feed it when they aren't doing anything and they'll say, "Nah, I'm too lazy. Besides, I don't afk that much." Yet, I see them talking and chatting in Dunby 24/7.

It's pretty safe to assume they won't make a glorious level 36+ spirit weapon based on their level :P But it's ok. Egoes are good for giving free blessings and for keeping momentous items safe from dropping or whatnot. I can understand that I suppose. In any case though, Yanm is right in that you should really just focus on your alchemic skills if you are an alchemist.

Hehe, it's funny how you messed my name up. My name stands for You Are No Match, so what you wrote sounds like You Are No Match No? You make me sound arrogant Eevee D: (I might start calling you that from now on. Is that all right?)

Golem is the first alchemy skill that I'm working on actually. Its currently at rank 7 and will be 6 this Saturday.. Part of the reason I want an ego is just to get the journal achievements for the higher levels. As for feeding it, I have a pretty steady supply of gems. I know I could make a dagger much cheaper, but again I have this sword already and it's nice.

Well gems aren't very good stats for a spirit weapon. If you're doing it just for the journal points you'll probably stop around level 30 lol... most players stop by then anyway. Even if you have a constant (and I mean constant) supply of 5+ CM gems, it will take ages to get even level 30... unless they're diamonds of course.
But yeah, gl on golem :) keep it up

At the very least the prospect of me never losing this sword is a nice thought. I've had several egos before this one on various accounts and to be honest I never really liked them but looking back I kind of think it's because I just plain never used it. I'd wield it whenever an event with lots of free items was around but otherwise it would just rot in my inventory. I figured if I actually tried I could turn it into an awesome weapon.

It just takes a lot of dedication and money constantly being put into it. You don't need more than a couple mil at any one time, but you need a constant supply is all

I understand it's a lot slower, but couldn't I raise an ego much cheaper with gems? I mean where does the actual cost for a well maintained Ego come from? Buying items? Buying replacement items to repair the ego? Spirit Liquor?

Mostly in feeding it... and gems wont cut it. If you feed your spirit weapon ONLY gems (even large ones) it will take you a considerably longer amount of time to level it up than someone buying NPC items (ranging from 600-990g each, so 5x that per feed) and longer still compared to someone feeding diamonds. Feeding only gems, or "casually" feeding rather than "spending money" (feeding things you find or from events or gifts) you won't see level 30+ for a year or two lol whereas someone who spends 45m can get 41 social in half that time
There is no "easy" way to level a spirit weapon. No "trick," and no "short cuts." Just time and money and dedication.

I am starting to see why Overgrading makes ego obsolete ^^::

In most cases yes
