A MINNEAPOLIS woman accused of attempting to ship a puppy across the country will not get the dog back.
The city administrative hearing officer denied 39-year-old Stacey Champion's appeal to regain custody of the animal, saying the Minneapolis woman's actions were "disgraceful", myFOXtwincities.com reported yesterday.
Ms Champion was charged with two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after officials said she tried to mail the four-month-old black poodle and Schnauzer mix, named Guess, in a box with no air holes, water or food. The puppy was discovered after the package moved unexpectedly and a postal worker heard panting inside.
Officials said the dog most likely would not have survived the journey to Georgia.

I am a little angry that this woman actually asked for the puppy back after mistreating it in this way. :mad:

I'm more worried at the fact that it also had no food or water.
At least have the dignity to feed the poor little guy :(

um.. i'm not sure how pets are usually 'delivered' from place to place, but I'm pretty certain none of them have little water and food containers in for the animal during the trip.
but air, that's just..

I can't quite understand what you're saying here; the sentence structure and choice of words makes it unreadable. But I'm assuming you're saying that you don't think they have food/water containers in their kennels during shipping?
If so, then yes they do. Any military family with a pet can tell you this. I've had cats all my life, and have moved around at least 5 times. And yes, we do put a food bowl (attached to the inside so it doesn't move around) and a water bowl. Not quite sure about the specifics, but you can look it up.

the only part of my sentence that required some unusual parsing was the part when i said "little water and food containers in for the animal", which given the context should be understandable.
and interesting, now I know. I didn't think that it was possible to have food and water in while transportation without it being spilled everywhere; but I was thinking it'd be stereotypical open mouthed bowls in the carrier.

I didn't find her post hard to read at all. o_o;
As for the topic at hand: This woman is stupid, cheap, or both.

It would have died in the cargo area of the plane since there's no air in there either.
Thank goodness they saved it.

My friend once told me that he thought all dumb people should be shot. I disagreed with him, because that's just wrong.
I'm beginning to change my mind.
