Setup:
Mission: Offering Hardmode
Skills: R1 fireball, Boltcomposer (any rank), R1 Fire Mastery
Stats:600+ int
Equips: S3 Fireball Wand
Since g13 and bolt composer and new int formula I have been messing around with this. I used to do only offering adv but the exp is slow. So now I have a new method to do my leveling in Hardmode offering.

Enjoy.

Very nice.. Is this faster than soloing kings? O o

Archibald wrote on 2011-02-10 19:06
I solo kings in about 12-14 mins. The average experience for that is around 340k with a 2x pot. With a 2x pot 15 mins = about 450-600k exp for offering Hardmode depending on mob groups.
figuring I can do about 9 Kings in 2 hours and 7.5 Offerings
Offering Hardmode = 3.375 Mil --> 4.5 Mil
New Kings Hardmode =3.060 Mil
So offering is superior in Exp. I also think it has lots more gold. Although you miss on a chance for snow webs and some other rares.

If i play that far after alchemy; that seems pretty fun. But im not that great with using pets as a use in battle.

so... do you end up finishing offering?
or do you kill the mobs till time runs out?

Hey, you know you can make your pets target your enemies with Ctrl+Shift. :P
Also, this looks rather annoying though. Having to handle the pets and whatnot. I recall seeing a video where someone used Thunder in between the tents and didn't really get attacked. She used pets as well, but not as much as you did.
Perhaps that's a better spot?

Thunder literally will take 6-7x the mana pots, I've done both. I can use less than 1 stack every 15 mins with fireball. I have watched that video, and lots of his videos, and corresponded with that JP player about these things.
As far as controlling pets, for some reason when I have a magic skill loading like fireball I cannot use control + shift with pets. I have to stop loading the charges, use ctr shift, then start charging again. So while charging I just right click the mobs. It looks like I'm doing 2 things at once but really I am not.
Another thing about using thunder, you will not be able to get the drops until the mission fails at about 15 mins. With fireball all it takes is 1 crit in middle of the circle and the whole group is gone. Use a fast horse and pick up the drops and rush back to get ready.
With -10% clothes on and fire master title and r1 fire mastery I use 92 MP per fireball. The total cost of 15 mins of offering HM is about 3k mana. Often times I level within that 15 mins (since its 450k+ exp) or have trans. Personally I have over 800 mana all the time and 900+ mana with my mana set on. People with lower mana totals will use more pots but that goes for thunder as well. If I get desperate for mana I have demi god capped too.
Fireballing in the middle is also a mistake. Unless you have barrier spikes up you will never get the second fireball up. That method might work with trinity staff but the slower load time will be annoying + all of the barriers you would use+ charging the skill to start. I will test and see if I can make that work though since the idea has merit.
I have been using offering adv to level for 7 months and I have finished only 1 mission. I was trying very hard to make the mobs land just right but fireball is not the right weapon for it. Once I finish Hailstorm I plan on setting 2 rows of barrier spikes up and using that skill to solo offering HM AND finish it.

I'm able to control pets normally as long as I do not have the 5th charge fully loaded.
For that reason, I usually hold off on the last charge until I see an appropriate set up.

How is this compared to like soloing SCC HM?
Fireballing seems like it cost a lot of mana pots as opposed to spending only Stamina pots in SCC.

This is not much of a 'guide' actually.

Well when I finish clay mastery to r1 I'll let you know cause I doubt it could compare t0 4-6 min SCC runs. With a 2x pot my average SCC gives 240k Exp. Currently since I'm a mage, with only 350 dex for range and not a great max set for crash, and I don't have enough melee to melee it, I do have r1 alchemy mastery and r1 golems but without clay I don't feel like trying that yet.
Its a mini guide. It gives a clear cut method to leveling as a mage.
As for mana pots I only use 1-1.5 stack per 15 mins.
