So, I know there's been a lot of threads up here recently about problems with the FTP server and patching and all that, but thats not the issue I'm having with it.
My game patched just fine. It logs in just fine. I can get on my character just fine, for about a minute. Then it gets angry at me. :T_T:
I suppose the real problem is that HackShield, in all of its failness is getting mad at me for seemingly no reason. I can play for all of a minute or so before the game freezes and it gives me this 0x00010501 error, saying something about me using hacking tools, which I'm using nothing of the sort.
I was just wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to what I have to do. I've seen so much on what to do that I've actually become completely clueless as to what I should actually do.
Anyone that helps me will be my best friend! :awesome:

does it do this every time, or just the once? i've gotten that error several times but it usually doesn't happen after a few relogs.

Its been every time I've tried to log in since I downloaded the Shakespeare patch, so I'd say maybe about 6-10 times now. Haven't really kept count or anything.

Get rid of your mods (which you shouldn't be using anyway!). I heard they improved detection. It labels any type of hack (ie. mod) as a hacking tool.

Never used a mod before. Don't even know how. If there's some sort of mod then it got there without my knowledge somehow, because I didn't do anything.
And before people start saying things about me lying about not using mods, think about it for a second. Why would I lie about something like this? There's just no feasible reason for it.
If a mod did somehow sneak its way in how would I go about getting rid of it? I don't even know what to look for...

Er, have you installed any programs since you patched? I know sometimes that Hackshield can catch things that really aren't meant to be hacks.

I might have, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. I know that I installed Open Office 3.3 since I last played a working version of the game, but I really don't see how that could cause a problem. At least it shouldn't be a problem. I suppose I could try deleting it though. Not like I use it anyways.

Nah, it shouldn't be openoffice... Did you try updating hackshield?

Nah, I'm not gonna accuse you of lying about it. The only reason I mentioned mods was because, unfortunately, a lot of people do use them and then run into issues.

@Okami HackShield is full updated. I've tried re-updating and whatnot and thats done nothing.
The only other program I've installed since I last played has been Itunes, and I doubt that would cause any problems...
@Yoorah Its k. Just that a lot of the threads on this that I've seen, and didn't help, had a lot of people spamming that kind of thing. Just making sure something like that doesn't happen here. Its much more useful to me if this is actually a place to get help and not have people spam "You're modding"...
To be honest I've never looked into any mods or anything. I don't normally like rewriting system files and whatnot. I wouldn't even know how to mod...
Anyways, is there any way that the files could have potentially been modded without me knowing? I don't really think that could happen, but its a crazy internet we live in.

I found this solution somewhere, more people have been getting errors like this. Friend of mine too, he is trying to solve it using this method:
" I also shut down every task aside from the basic ones and got the game to work. I'm still trying to force a hackshield error but i haven't gotten it to work. I'm not sure what exactly happened but I can't even get the game to error now.
For anyone else experiencing this problem, going into msconfig and setting all non-windows based programs to off and running the game once seemed to work for me. At this point, I'm able to run the game fine now with everything set normally."
Hope it helps.
