A brave soldier defeated 40 train robbers to save a young woman from rape. The Indian Army awarded Bishnu Shrestha with the Shaurya Chakra and Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak medals for bravery and saving another person's life during the Indian Republic Day celebrations, Jan. 26.
Bishnu, a Gurkha soldier in the Indian Army, was returning home after voluntary retirement on the Maurya Express from Ranchi to Gorakhpur on Sep. 2 last year when 40 men began to rob the train passengers indiscriminately.
When the men proceeded to strip an 18-year-old woman with the apparent intent of raping her, Bishnu was moved to dire action. The 35-year-old took out his Kukri knife and single-handedly began to attack the forty robbers, while the woman's parents watched helplessly. Bishnu killed three of the bandits and injured eight others, while the remaining 29 fled for their lives.
The eight injured men were arrested by police, who recovered 400,000 Rupees (almost $10,000) in cash, 40 gold necklaces, 200 cell phones, and 40 laptops among other items, which included those abandoned by the fleeing robbers.
The Indian Army further rewarded Bishnu with Rs. 50,000 in cash, and has terminated his voluntary retirement in order to give him a customary promotion after awarding his medals. Moreover, he will also receive cash rewards from the Indian Government, special discounts on international air tickets and discounts on Indian rail tickets.
Bishnu is a Gurkha, a people from Nepal who are renowned for their fighting skills. The Kukri is a curved knife used traditionally by the Nepali people and it is also known as the "Gurkha knife."

Although the title of the article is a bit misleading. He only really defeated 11 and scared off the other 29.

Sounds more like Final Hit.
The robbers were a bunch of unprofessional cowards, who preyed on unarmed, easily scared civilians. Those people are never a match for a highly trained soldier. :3
