He wanted me too go to the Schools open house to watch the plays (that he wrote for Drama) Anyway my dad didn't care if I went or not, so I was planning to go, but then today I was doing a bunch of catchup work for history and completely forgot that I was supposed to go until it was too late... even though I didn't know the actual time it started I assumed it started around 6:30, the same time I remembered I was supposed to be there.
What do I do?!

Head over there, maybe you can still catch some of the shows and see your friend there.(Actually, I just noticed it was 8 PST time and you said 6:30, so you're way late, don't do this one.) Or you could wuss up to your friend like a man tomorrow(or call him right now) and honestly describe your situation, and say you're sorry that you couldn't go. Unless your friend is a jerk, he'll understand. He'll feel bad that you didn't go, but at least he knows the predicament you're in so he/she won't bash on you for not going without a reason.
To the parentheses, how many plays did your friend write and how many minutes do you think each drama takes? Maybe you can still catch some, but I doubt it.

Well... if you didn't know when it started, can he really blame you?

Blame explosive amnesia.
Also, try to make up for your friend by doing something really nice.

Yeah what he said ^^^
Or, you can blame the guy sitting 6 feet away from you. It works.. For me. Well, I'm the only smart guy at my school... Might not work for you D:

you just need to tell him any reason, even if not reasonable, he'll figure out something in his mind...
such as "I couldn't come because I couldn't make it to the play."
