  Back before Iria my main has a human (obviously) named Ukryu. This is a name I made up and has nothing to do with Uryuu from Bleach. But I've seen both an Uryuu and an Uryu around. Whenever I see them I do a double take. I haven't talked to them before though xD;

  Well, like others said, if it's only once in a while, then it's fine, since it's an homage, where as a long period of time means they're trying to use your fame to become popular themselves/ruin your reputation by not just taking your name, but your image and then start scamming people. And then there's the third kind, unintentional duplication. There's only so many names that can be used, since Mabi has somewhat strict naming rules (no caps after your first lowercase, no letters after any numbers, etc.), so it's only natural that people start getting similar names.
  
  Don't think I've seen anyone with a name similar to Arsik on Ruairi. There was this guy named Askir on Guru that I commented on in his intro thread, but that's about it. Best example I can think of for the third kind is Sakurako and Sakuroko. Roko was in Immortals when he moved from Tarlach, so he didn't know about Rako, who has been around for a while and in Dango. So naturally, they decided to get married for the lulz, and then Roko went to Dango, and haven't really talked to him much since then. D:

  Well I made my main human "Criticalxhit" and only recently did I receive a note from "Critcalhit" saying i aws unoriginal, but he was just joking. I ran in to him later on and found that he was an elf, and I told him I didn't intend to copy him and he was fine with it. But from what I can infer from the OP, I'm guessing that the name was closely copied, in which case I would be slighty annoyed, and slightly flattered

  I was really annoyed because of this.
  Especially since a lot of chinese characters can be easily misread.
  
  The second character of my name was 铃.
  
  This person used 玲, so it was really difficult to tell apart if you weren't careful at reading.
  
  I feel a little bad making the person promise not to "main" that character, but I felt it had to be done. Especially when the person refuses to tell me why he wanted that as the name, is going to play that character and says that he has his own reasons (I find that suspicious). He's the type who gives me harmless (sometimes a little protective) but annoying and disrupting trouble in Mabi which is why I had to do it.
  
  On the bright side, at least it was that person who took that name and not some random stranger.
  
  No matter, I will get my revenge with his main character's IGN soon >=D
  
  
  P.S. OMG the new character has the same color for the name as him XD Perfect!
