Since proffing has been made like 10x easier nowadays, just be sure to repair at a 98% blacksmith at the least, because your don't want your wepaon losing anymore than 2 max dura before you ego it. No upgrades on the weapons either, make sure that is so, on your Dustin ego.
Feed it cheap things at first, because the cap will be 6 points still, which still will be 10%. When you get to higher ego str level and social level 10's begin to feed it better items that cost around1k~2k gold. Around social 15, do gems, sicne some of them are really cheap and common in the shops of Dunby Ch1. You can decided to feed gems anytime, just that it'd be wasteful to use them at earlier stages, because there goes extra wasted money on points that could've be attainable with patience. Oh, and you can feed it as you go, like get drops of Shadow missions then feed to ego, and not continously buy the ego things unless you want to, like most people do nowadays.

Thanks I had made the mistake of repairing it at a 95% in Tara I was so lucky ended up getting full repair. How hard is the quest also I heard of a shortcut that if you have the spirit stone and talk to Talarch he'll just give you Spirit Weapon's Contract keyword could that possibly happen to me? Thanks for the tips I got a gem from a TM and my friend gave me 4 gems to help me in advance for my ego. I hit 200-230 Crits w/ smash with my Dustin currently If I keep everything the same somehow how high do you think my crits would be at lets say lvl 10 Str + Social?

The Short cut your talking about is like you said, you can bring the spirit stone straight to Tarlach and he'll give you the contract keyword and set you up with a spirit weapon. The actual quest though gives you the Spirit Fossil Mine keyword which lets you go mine your own spirit stones. If you skip the quest, you don't get that keyword. As for difficulty, if you can handle a marginally harder barri normal, you're fine.

I advise against forming a contract with a spirit dustin silver knight sword. Upgraded two-handed weapons are currently superior despite costing only a fraction of what it would cost for your spirit weapon to obtain decent stats. If you want to obtain decent stats at a normal pace (999 gold items and under) it'll cost you around 3-5 million in order to obtain social level 21. You would have around 26-28 strength at that point. I've spent around 10 million in order to hit 29 social.
It's easy to make a spirit weapon. Depending on the weapon and your access to the cash shop it's often not too difficult to repair/maintain a spirit weapon. It's feeding spirit weapons that will cost you upwards of 25-110 million gold and months/years of feeding.

Spirits weapons aren't really that useful until you put at least level 40 strength into it. For some weapons, it may require even more levels. It takes around 50 million to get to level 41 social. It will take a very long time before the Dustin Knight Sword outclasses special upgraded weapons as it requires high level stats not only in strength, but the others as well.
For a cheap and somewhat decent way to feed ego, feed it only items that cost less than 1k. If you want to raise an ego really fast, feed it nothing but diamonds after each of the stats are around level 13+.

This is also where metallurgy comes along great.
If you happen to have a high production gathering and metallurgy skill, just head to the river banks in iria and pull up loads of topaz and garnets. If you make an ego 2h, doing metallurgy there is like getting diamonds all day since a Topaz can raise STR, DEX, and social, and garnets raise everything except Str. Saves alot of money, and at the same time you can gain money since ores sell for 1k ~ 3k a stack depending on the server.
Not only that, but if you want to refine the ore fragments you gain in the process, that's another easy way to level up your refining skill without spending a dime.
If you run into getting diamonds, sell them off for a buttload since you're already fishing up gems that raise all your ego's stats anyway.
So I say, go for metallurgy if you want to make a decent ego, it's a fully rounded profitable skill to have.

Frog thanks you! I was regretting me making my ego because of all the negativity before but you brought my spirits back up! (It's already made :D!) so what you saying just Garnets + Topazes? My friend has an ego and he would trade gems so I can trade Everything but Topazes + Garnets for them thanks for the advice!

Kind of related, is there a spirit weapon guide or anything already made on mabination that explains the process and difficulty of a high level spirit weapon? If so, whenever someone posts a question about spirit weapons maybe they should just be referred there :) I've noticed a lot of these types of questions and I just think it might be helpful if everyone had a guideline place to look (besides wiki I suppose)
