How high is it exactly to get in?
I'm considering alchemy but for my only real needs, my /endgame/ goes to R1 Raincasting. Alchemy Mastery, Transmutation, Barrier Spikes, R5 Mana Crystallization, R6 Synth+Frag
Would that get in to RA as it is right now? Just curious since It'd be easy to snag in now if I could, and feel free to suggest some other skills that might be, that might actually be helpful even though I melee mainly :v

If you have those skills, just try and apply. It might work.

This is more of a 2-3 month change, but mostly posting for opinion on how it is in Mari, and Im curious about how it is in other servers too.

I've seen people as low as 200 total (which is also when I got in for the first time) get in. Last week I saw someone under 300 and had 800 journal points. This was also the week several of my RA friends also lost their position because of RA points. At least on Alexina. I think that's only because lots of people tend to be on and off RA because of lack of points.
Those skills look good enough to get in. Training Alchemy Mastery will be pretty tedious with your lack of offensive alchemy though.

In mari it is tougher. I know someone with 3x r1 skills and some 2~3x r9+ skills and 1000 points lose the position.

I never had trouble getting RA of late. But I often quit as there is too much pressure to keep up with RA points.
I have about 3000 journal points. Seven R1 skills, one R6, two R9, and the rest are practice or lettered ranks. I'm extremely stingy with AP so I do not rank skills that I think I will not use. (e.g. Water cannon left at lettered rank for the enchant that adds critical.)
Chances are that if your skills are of the usual build just like most of the other alchemists that applies for RA (barrier spikes) it will be more difficult to get in. It's ok not to have the same skills, but you have to get a couple of numbered ranked skills to get in.
Mari should have a fair bit of competition so don't be too upset if you can't get in. Just apply and test out what the requirements are as you go along. My only advice is to rank the skills you think you will use. Don't rank something just for an RA position.
