Hey everyone. My question this time concerns my current Val armor and a Dustin armor. I have a sigged Red (I guess it's more like Magenta, but it's probably as red as val armor can get) and black Valencia Armor (M). It's fully upgraded 14/10 with 21 dur on it and I also have Musician's Val boots and 2/2 Sigged Val gauntlets. Now, my problem is that I want to get explosion resistance. To do that, I'm getting a Dustin Helm and Burst Knight as suffixes on my gauntlet and boots. However, I've looked at crit enchants for a long time and the suffixes are starting to tempt me. Dignified, Elegant and all the other crit suffixes are really getting too me, and I'm curious as to whether I should get a Dustin now. There's one currently that's 6/4, 24 dur and 2mil. Stomp resistance isn't that bad, but I don't like how it cancels my skill when I get hit and sometimes I do see the little flash activate, but I still get knocked back and it doesn't seem to reduce the Damage THAT much. To sum this up, my question is should I stick with my Val armor and just get Burst Knight or should I get rid of it and get Dustin armor, along with the crit suffixes?
My second question is for those that have a high rank of Wings of Rage. How is the damage of it compared to Spear of Light? Is it A LOT weaker or is it only slightly weaker? Not looking for any saying of Spear of God at all, just a comparison between high rank SoL and WoR.

Dustin armor, you have a possiblity of affording a 7/5 by that level by now, I'm sure. The upgrades of defense/protection surpass the Valencia armor by quite a bit. It'd be worth it in the long run anyways. Dignified is like a unpersonalized version of Elegant imo. Even if you're aiming for Explosion resistance, then why not have a set for one, and then another set for the other? It may be expensive, but it's still worth it.
I find that Wings of Rage is a lot stronger than Spear of Light, when I compare the two. It just seems to look like it hits less, but the extra bit of damage that stuns the enmies for a bit is pretty decent, and just adds up higher than Spear of Light's damage. To me, it seems a lot weaker.

I hit maybe 1000~2000 total with r1 rage of wings?
I can crit 3k+ with spear of light and it's not even r1 yet. You also get the option of using spear of god.

Is that 1k-2k without a crit? I know how strong Spear of Light is, I have r1 myself and do 2k+ normally and nearly 5k crits. Again, I didn't really want a mention of Spear of God, as that's not a determining factor for this. I'm well aware of that skills crazy damage, but I'm strictly looking for Wings of Rage damage compared to Spear of Light.

It's without a crit, and also with residual damage. Residual damage doesn't crit though. If you take the base damage from the wiki, spear of light does 700 (1000 if you count the "initial hit") more damage. The residual damage hits maybe.. ~5 times? I haven't counted. That's around ~800 damage. 1600 vs 1800.
Rage of Wings ignores defense and protection though, which is great. You can damage things with 100% protection. It's also a pain to hit things with. I know I often miss with it, even if the monster doesn't "teleport."
Spear of Light I know will hit every single time.

I'd say go with the dustin set. Stomp resistance really is completely
worthless.
Keep your existing valencia pieces though, even if you decide to repurpose them for another effect. You're eventually going to want at least one pure offense, one pure crit, and the ability to mix and match the pieces to set your crit to what is needed for the content you plan to run, then the rest can be max damage. If one of the above sets includes explosion resistance, that adds a third equip option.
I wouldn't bother shelling out the extra cash for a 7/5 dustin unless you plan to make a tank set. An extra 1 defense/protection when your primary interest is to deal offense and not get hit won't make much of a difference. 7/5 dustin is really only if you plan to go full on turtle mode, IMO.

Hmmm, well it seems like I might get that Dustin armor then. I've seen that vid myself and I know how stomp resistance is. I always did hate how it canceled my skill, along with not activating all the time. I guess I will keep the Val armor though, I could probably make it my defensive set since I already have the val gauntlets and the boots. I wasn't thinking of getting a 7/5 Dustin, as like I said, I want one that's red and black, though I've looked at a gold and black dustin as well. My two favorite color combinations......gahhh, why so hard to decide? By the way, what's your take on the Wings of Rage vs Spear of Light topic Cryosite?

My Morrighan skills haven't hit rank 1 yet, so I haven't been using my demi for anything but a mana elixir now and then. As a mage, using spear of light was always something that I'd be doing instead of casting magic; meaning I typically preferred my magic due to area of effect being better.
I consider both skills to be highly situational. Spear does more damage it seems, and fury of light does more than eclipse, obviously; so for normal grinding Neamhain seems like it would be more generally useful to speed up leveling and stuff. Wings skills seem like they would shine in places where extreme survivability of eclipse would come in handy like Peaca, and the protection ignoring ability of rage would let it hurt things like the bosses found there. Once my wings skills are at rk1, I plan to switch back to Neamhain then use the light skills to avoid wasting points and add a bit of speed to leveling and hunting stuff. Then if I plan to hit places like peaca for a bit, or if g14, 15, or 16 prove to be hard like g11, then I may switch to Morrighan again.

Interesting indeed. What got me liking Wings of Rage was the ignoring protection stuff and the stun it gives. It'd be fun launching it out of windmill at the Doppleganger of SCC HM along with doing max damage on the Provocation Commander. I still think that I'll get my skills to r1 first before I make my decision.

Probably the best idea. May as well have both at rk1 and try them out yourself, no?

I prefer Morrighan's transformation.
Spear of Light and Wings of Rage are situational. I see no reason to prefer Spear of Light over Wings of Rage unless you plan on spending AP to utilize Spear of God. Your normal skills can outdamage either skill, unless you're fighting an enemy with heavy defense/protection/passive defense. It's ability to ignore those traits give Wings of Rage situational usefulness. Not to mention, it stuns enemies with advanced heavy stander.
Fury of Light has a lengthy load duration and lasts a very brief amount of time. Wings of Eclipse activates instantly and lasts the entire duration of your transformation. If you have around 30 defense, you become completely immune to all attacks which deal less than 500 damage at r1. Wings of Eclipse also grants you advanced heavy stander, allowing you to attack enemies without interruption.
