Enchants for a mage~?

Exactly as the title says, I need enchants for an elf mage, but I have no idea which would be good ones D8 I'm planning to get a Hebona +10% Icebolt damage and also make it into a MP reduction set by using Mana Witch on the circlet, gloves, shoes, and a school uni/Karis under the robe, so I'll pretty much only have the prefix slot open for my clothes D8

So you guys wanna help me~?

You should try going for that new "Sprout" enchant. It's the new Will 'O Wisp enchant, or so I've heard.

I guess Smart enchant is good too, for a headgear. ^^b

sprout burns are expensive and rare, in addition to it being a suffix.
does the circlet count as a helmet? if so, i'd say try for curing. if not, smart.
maybe fickle for your karis/magic school if you want to go that far, if they even count as magical clothing. (i think the karis might)
honorable accessories might help as well.

Sprout isn't that expensive. On Tarlach they're 100k or less. A lot of times you can find them at 50k.

In Ruairi they're 30-70k as well, averaging at 50k. Not rare by any means... I casually put together my sprout trinity set lol But yeah since you state you only need prefix for clothes Fickle is about your only choice. Stage would be the step enchant used prior. Fickle is r4, stage is r5 enabled.

Fickle is obtainable from: Enchant Scroll (Barri Adv for Two Reward)

Stage is obtainable from: Enchant Scroll (Barri Adv Reward, Ifrit)

So barri advanced is going to be your new best friend... however since they're r5-4 and you seem to want to put it on your karis which may be pricy, you should use enchant protection pots.

Fickle Enchant Stats: MP+10
Int+10
When using the Diligent title, Balance+10%
When using the Lazy title, Critical+10%

edit: Also I just thought I'd throw this out there (I don't know how plausible this is or whether it applies to you) but if you're not using a spirit weapon wand, and have a staff or wand you use most you could consider "Mana Conjurer" for your magic weapon. It's a prefix, rank 7 -.- But rank-enabled (doesn't need steps).

Mana Conjurer adds:
If Thunder Rank 9+, MP Cost Reduction+2~4
If Ice Spear Rank 8+, Magic Attack+2
Will+10
Personalize

And can be found in: Exclusive Enchant Scroll (Enemy Behind - Elite)

If you did come across one and used it, it might open a slot or two in your magic set

Oh you're on ruairi :P Nah I've seen them on ch1 for under 100k and that's saying something. I've also found about 10. Probably the most common enchanted item I've found from Theater Missions.

By not using the failure of a set that is hebona, especially if your only purpose is to boost the weakest spell in the game, icebolt, you can just use an mp reduction set (karis, bbfh, karis shoes) and use all your suffix slots for sprout/wisp/etc. and you can read about an actually good enchant setup on Zyrus' guide in the guide section. The INT you gain from all the sprout/wisp enchants alone will quite possibly boost your icebolt nearly as much as the set effect would, and you'll be boosting ALL your other more important spells as well.

mmm I don't think a full sprout set gives 200 int :P Also ice-bolt isn't really fail if you use an ice wand, I hear it can be quite deadly if used correctly. Then again, I don't know from first hand experience.

I know from firsthand experience, as I started my mage career out as an icebolter. I am well aware of what the spell is capable of, and I also know that it is completely fail in comparison to intermediate magic and bolt fusion.

Using hebona and an ice wand you only really break even with lightning bolt for damage.

Yes hebona set will boost icebolt's damage more than the int of the sprout enchants would, but the sprout enchants int will boost thunder more than hebona effect will. It will also boost fireball more than hebona will. Both of these spells are strictly better than icebolt, even if those spells are not boosted at all, and icebolt is boosted.

I have a defense/protection set I'm working on. I use a defensive/imp valencia that was smithed for 6/4 and is upgraded for protection. It should last me plenty long enough til I successfully get my 7/5 dustin enchanted the way I want. So I do know the value of being able to tank as a mage.

I also know how much that armor costs to repair if it gets much use.

I prefer my karis for most situations, as high rank defense skill and mana shield is more than enough to keep me alive in most situations, and trans covers the rest. The -10% mp cost is very noticable over the course of a single mission, as it is one more thunder out of 10 for free before I have to chug any potions. For a mission like SCC I can get through the whole thing without using more than a potion or two at most.

I don't know if I'd still support Icebolt with all the recent changes, I've lost around 20 Icebolt damage from the Int rebalance, including Rank 1 Bolt Mastery, which is pretty significant. Although it still has it's merits with an even lower MP Cost, I can spam it endlessly without dipping into my mana pool at all, I actually regenerate faster.

Though I would go for a Mana Witch Karis Suit or Trinity Wear (+7 total) and a Mana Witch accessory (+3) to get the reduction effect activated using only 2 enchant slots. There are many pre-stepped Nao accessories that are useless and sold on the cheap. Not to mention that Mana Witch is not possible to be stepped on hats or gloves at the moment, and the Shake enchant needed for shoes is extremely rare.
I agree that it isn't really important though. I don't even use it for Fireball or Hailstorm training because it doesn't really save that much.

As for Mage enchants...
Don't go for MP or Int. If you're focusing on Bolt Magic or Hailstorm, the only useful enchant is Critical. Int (from enchants) is still worthless imo, and the mana reduction makes Max MP less valuable. And since Hebona is a Bolt Magic set, it's safe to assume you'll be using Bolts and will want the Crit moreso than the MP for healing, intermediate magic, or mana shield.
