In seriousness though, they did something most jrpg's fail to do, and thats voice the entire dialog. Actually pretty well at that.

Oh, and the actual gameplay isn't bad either.

Its been out. Fully in English. To be honest, I'm actually enjoying the voices. The cast is pretty good too. In particular, Cristina Valenzuela is doing one of the main characters, and we all like hearing Noel Vermillion's whining even if its annoying.

Heres a better gameplay video.

You can swap out your equipment and attached items which both changes your character's looks and action options.
You have a certain amount of AP per turn, and each action consumes a certain amount of AP. This can lead to combos, some of which activates special moves.

Lots of fun.

Still though the premise of playing as a console avatar depending on where you got the game was suppose to be a cool concept.
Either way I go see the game in youtube if it is worth a look.

It "sucks" because its a traditional jRPG.

What I'm about to list off are things that could be TERRIBLE for you, or AWESOME for you. Its just a matter of preference, this game.

1. There are no animated cutscenes. All dialog is done between character portraits and occasional CG drawings. This can either piss people off, or really make them happy. It has a strong visual novel feel, which would appeal to fans of the genre, while the average player would just be annoyed and confused.

2. The entire game is voice acted. If you find loli voices annoying, this game is going to bother you infinitely. If you are okay with it, it really adds life to an RPG. One thing I hated Square Enix for is that they only voiced cutscenes.

3. Combat is turn based. Fans of traditional jrpg will be ecstatic while people who want real time action will find it boring. But the combat is very customizable so its totally awesome.

4. The entire game casts girls, with fanservice. Its that kind of game. Some people are just uncomfortable with it, but its supposed to be the selling point of the game itself, so there might be people who might not really understand that.
