Water: ... the ****? Seriously?
Fire: Meh. Not good, not bad.
Grass: Look at that guy. He's all smug. I like him already.
Water better turn into something amazing if it looks that stupid at first.

Wow, Nintendo is trolling right there. Remember when they showed the silhouette of Zoroark, and when they showed what it actually looks like, everyone was releaved that it wasn't a Warthog? What do you think the evolved form of the pig is going to look like?
Tossed up between the Lizard and the Pig regardless. That Water-type...thing... who in their right minds would pick it unless it's evolved form is on the same levels as Ho-oh and Lugia? Dx
But my guesses are the Grass-type will evolve into Grass/Flying, the Fire-type will evolve into either Fire/Dark or Fire/Ground and the Water-type will probably be Water/Ice, what with it being a mix between a beaver, an otter and a clown, thus having light blue colors that usually go with the Water/Ice Pokemon.
Also, apparently the player character is now not a 10 year old setting out on a dangerous journey pretty much alone. I'm gonna guess that they're now 13-14 instead, which is a nice change of pace, but still doesn't change anything.

I don't know about you guys but I think the little sea otter is cute D: still going to pick grass though.
What I'm more concerned with are the protagonists. They look like a step back from DP; the male protagonist has a mullet-ish hair style, enough said, where as the female protagonist looks like she fought in a beauty salon.

Kkyrng... kryn rryng kryn krryng kyrng! Kyrn rryn!
Kyrrng kryn kkyrrng kyrrn ryng. Kyrn rryng kyrng.
(How dare you even call that... water type THING an otter! You insult my race! D:
The only one that even looks decent imo is the fire one. God these look even worse than the DP ones.)

Dude, ANYTHING is better than the protagonist from DP. I actually think the new guy doesn't look half bad.

THEY LOOK SO COOL! I'm going for the Grass-type!
He like he could sip on a martini and have casual talk with you.
He also looks like Treecko's cousin.
I knew the Fire-type was gonna be a pig/boar Pokemon. I think the four legs gave it away.
Watch it be strong. I mean, from:

What makes you think that? The current trainers don't look older than the other trainers of past games. I agree that having older characters would be a nice breath of fresh air, but why would Nintendo deviate from their current formula? I hope I'm proven wrong and they do something
different with this game's story line, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
I kinda like the character design for the girl trainer, but the boy's design looks a bit too simple IMO.

I like blazekin, he's still my favorite pokemon from the list of all 490+ pokemon. Hopefully, I can bring my blazekin from my old Diamond game into the new Black/White game. I'm probably gonna start off using the fire pig as my first starter.

.__.
Looks like I'm not picking water this generation. I'm actually going to pick fire so that I my rival can one-up me by picking the water one, allowing me to kill the latter...repeatedly.
Also, it's probably just a conceptual design, but anyone notice how the battle scene looks a bit more 3D-ish?

I actually dislike both of them. The boy character looks like a beach boy, and the girl looks she just lost a fight with her hairdryer.

CoroCoro said that the trainers are going to be a little bit older. I'm just assuming 13-14 since the art of the characters still look like kids, but since they are apparently older, makes me guess the 14-15 range. That's what
Serebii states, and the site is pretty accurate with their news. If I could get my hands on the latest issue of CoroCoro, then I could probably doublecheck to prove it, but I'm too lazy to find in on the web.

As for secondary types, here are my guesses:
Grass -> Grass/Flying or Grass/Dragon. The guy looks like one of those dinosaurs to me and birds evolved from dinosaurs. Dragon would make it quite competitive though. Besides Torterra, I don't think many people use the Grass starters competitively.
Fire -> Don't know really, but I just hope it isn't Steel. Fire/Ground seems definitely viable and he could be bulky.
Water -> I'm not gonna say Water/Ice. I mean, Piplup is a penguin and they made him into Water/Steel when Water/Ice seems definitely reasonable. I hope they get creative with him. Water/Fighting, Water/Psychic. He looks like a clown too.
Oh and here's a clean shot of all three btw.
