Cylinder Upgrades

  Just finished proffing both my Hurricane and Volcano cylinders. I got my +freeze time for Hurricane, then debated for a while on how to upgrade my volcano. At last I decided that, since +11 base damage won't do much, nor will full crit as Flame Burst ignores protection, I decided to go with the upgrade path for +4% crit (to reach 30%+ with my stiff cap) and -33% stamina use, making heat buster significantly less costly and flame burst slightly less so.
  
  The problem? The 5th stamina reduction upgrade doesn't seem to exist. I have my Volcano at 4/5 upgrades, plenty of prof and gold-- but neither Eabha nor Heled show it, or even a ??? to indicate an upgrade I don't qualify for.
  
  Is it somehow undiscovered still? Is it a G13S2/G14 upgrade? I really have no clue what's going on, any help would be appreciated, especially if someone on a server other than Ruairi could check if it's available there.

  If I remember correctly, quite a few upgrades are only available to RAs, as they have to discover the upgrades first. They would be the only ones to see said upgrades when talking to Eabha or Heledd. Try finding an RA who has learned said upgrade and ask them to do it for you.

  No, Royal Alchemists have to discover the upgrades, but thereafter they are available to everyone. Each upgrade is only discovered once, after which in the window it is listed as "xxx's yyyy Enhancement" or whatever. Even were it the case that you need to be an RA, I am one, and have discovered an upgrade of my own. It just... doesn't seem to exist. The other 4 weight reductions were discovered, but I'm not sure if this one hasn't been discovered, isn't implemented, or what.

  I can't answer the question but it's the same problem for both the tidalwave cylinder and earthquake cylinder. I'm on tarlach btw. Maybe it'll come out along with the artisan upgrades :S?

  1. You should've upgraded your hurricane cylinder for freeze angle (time +4, angle +18).
  
  2. The +fire damage does increase your damage by a lot.
  
  3. RAs have to discover the upgrades, but anyone can use them.

  The fifth stamina reduction upgrade is not out / has not been discovered on Mari either.

  Freeze Angle upgrades are nuts.
  Max out freeze angle and R type a hurricane. The radius is nuts. it actually freezes things behind you to a degree. (angle is left and right.)
  Think of it like an expanding cone.
  
  Pretty sure that's how freeze angle works.

  ya, +fire damage is amazing cuz of how the flame burst formula works. +5 fire damage at 5 charges has the effect of +50 max dmg or something like that

  I'll be making another for that, this one is my PvP Hurricane. Max freeze time put people out of my way long enough for me to deal with their comrades.

  Yes, but not to an extent to which I really feel like bothering. Reducing the absurd stamina drain from HB and ensuring a constant 30% crit for Flame is more important.

  Well, 5 * 7.2 = +36 damage at 5 charges without applying any multipliers.
  
  (+36 * 1.15 * 1.1) = +45 or so damage with a base cylinder.
  
  +45 * 1.3 = +59 damage with a Volcano.
  
  There was also a / .1 in the base cylinder damage calculation, but that can't be right, as that'd give me +592 or so damage with a Volcano cylinder, just from a +5 upgrade. That cannot be right.
