Did Vindictus get... bloodier?

I've always thought all the blood in the game (whether decal or spray effect) was reddish. Maybe not a vibrant, fresh kind of red, but a really deep, saturated shade of crimson that looks blackish at first glance. I think it's the same color as what other Source games like Portal use. Not 100% sure about that, though.

If the spray effect isn't blood, then maybe it has something to do with evil cores? Like dark essence or something. I don't know. I'm probably just overthinking things now...

No, I'm pretty sure most of the people here are talking about the blood spray that's dark red (almost black). The red is more noticeable if you have your settings turned up, and the spray that stains the floors and the monsters are more noticeable as well. With specs all the way down, it's just a small black spray.

The flashy effect you're probably thinking of is a critical. They changed how the critical looked. It used to be just a flash on the screen. Now, you can see somewhat of a spark or star-like flash outline on the monsters, and less of a full screen flash. It was really weird for me to get used to.

Oh my god, where the hell is that song from (the first two songs)???? I know it's from a game and I used hear that song all the time. Where the hell is it from?

Anyways, yeah looks pretty black to me.

Edit: Never mind. I spent freaking half an hour trying to figure out that song before I posted this. Now that I posted it, I finally figured out where it was from. Oh Ragnarok Online, it had such great music. My first MMO.

So, Decal basically makes the "blood" black to red, and it's more noticeable, and when you hit a monster blood comes out and it stains on them, so yeah it's more noticeable, etc. And I like it.

I get dark red only with bloody thread. Maybe fionas have certain attacks to trigger the blood which actually looks like blood as well.

So maybe blood can be black when it's very concentrated.
