I was out of town when the update happened, so when I got back I rushed to find out what is going on and I see...potential free NX! Awright, I thought! But now I only have about 3 weeks to get that free NX and I'm wondering what is the best way to go about it. So, first stop, Mabination forums to ask a bunch of questions. ^_^
(All my characters are Level 44 going on 45 BTW, since I capped before the update)
1. How does this Gauntlet Ticket thing work? I just spam Hard Mode dungeons to get them? Can I buy the tickets from the Marketplace?
2. Are the Gauntlet titles a rare drop or do you get them after a set amount of Gauntlets?
3. Can you solo a Gauntlet? (Maybe not the higher difficulty ones of course, but the lower level ones)
4. Can I get the titles for more than 1 characters? (i.e, 2 characters with max titles would be 24,000 NX)
5. Does ANY Hard Mode dungeons drop tickets, or just some?
Alright, that's about it for now. Hopefully I can get my titles and NX before the event is over, because it's the only event I'm really excited about.

1. they are dropped by bosses on any hard mode dungeon on that boat, you can buy them from market
2. they are obtained from bags that drop from the gauntlet boss, the bags very rarely contains titles
3. no
4. they are so rare, I wouldn't worry about it, but I don't think you can, the nx is awarded account based
5. look at number 1

You can only do gauntlet at 50. You don't need to be in hard mode dungeons to get the drops, and you can only get tickets on similar boats. (boat 4 gauntlet tickets on boat 4 only) You can buy them on the market.
After a set amount, I believe. I'm not sure about the actual amount, but I think it's 50. But I might be totally wrong about that.
You can solo any of the gauntlets. Whether or not you can actually complete the gauntlet alone depends on the strength of your character as well as your individual skill.
I don't know, but I think the awards are given by account. You can get the titles on all of your chars, but only one prize per account.
You don't have to be on hard, but I think the drop rate is much higher in the raid dungeons. I don't know if the drop rate is different per difficulty.

3. You can solo gauntlets theoretically if you were skilled enough.
Boat 1 for sure, but it will of course take longer without other party members.
I wouldn't get your hopes up on the titles. I heard you can only run 3 gauntlets a day on top of getting the ticket drops.
Of the sacks I've gotten so far, I've either gotten 10k gold or an AP capsule.
Boat 4 gauntlet isn't in yet, probably in the coming maintenance/patch. The one coming tonight is going to be 4 hours, so we can hope.

Gauntlets... I really think you should party up.
Even Perilous Ruins, 2 Bosses at a time, both titled. Poison, Defense, Speed, or Every Attack is a Smash. These bosses will either destroy you or time you out unless you have a team mate.

So far, I've gotten Gauntlet Tickets for all boats except for Boat 2. I did Hard Mode and even then, it's a rare drop. If you're really curious, the Marketplace is the best place for tickets. They go for 10k-60k each depending on the boat. The Boat 1 tickets are most expensive, so far.
2. Are the Gauntlet titles a rare drop or do you get them after a set amount of Gauntlets?
It's another rare event. You can win the Gauntlet battle, but not get a sack. You can get a sack, but not a title instead just 10K gold or etc.
3. Can you solo a Gauntlet? (Maybe not the higher difficulty ones of course, but the lower level ones)
In theory, yes, but I don't recommend it. The bosses are fast and it's difficult enough to dodge their attacks inside a full party. They tend to swarm you, and I've seen glitches all over the place during these runs. The leader may D/C during the fight, and then your party is screwed over.
5. Does ANY Hard Mode dungeons drop tickets, or just some?
All Hard Mode dungeons drop tickets. It's just pretty rare, I've gotten a tickets from Red Archer, Decisive Battle, and Where the Legend Sleeps. BTW, not all party members will get a ticket it's all random from my exp.

Thanks for all the info, it seems like the titles are really hard to get :( Maybe I should just give up on this one and get the Hero Mode titles instead...
Are there a lot of Gauntlet parties to join? It would seem that a good way to get titles would be to just keep on joining as many Gauntlets as you can (preferably Boat 1) and hope to get lucky...

Not really sure, if there are a lot of Gauntlet parties for Boat 1. I've only been on 3 runs, I'm kind of surprised when I see the battle show up on the boards. It's a good idea to check at odd times (morning/late evening) for interesting boat rides. Or when you're out of tokens, to do Hard Mode runs with multiple bosses to increase your chances of finding a ticket.
I think the party leader is taking a considerable risk when they host a Gauntlet Mode, so they may tend to be private battles for all I know.
FWIW: I don't find all that many boats hosting Hard Mode battles, despite the event going on for tickets.

if you spedn a few minutes at the docks I'm pretty sure you would come across one sooner or later, the public gauntlet parties fill up fast... have to check often

Don't forget about Lady Killer and Manhunter titles... lol! Does extra damage based on gender.

Just a general tip for anyone farming tickets. The best places to farm gauntlet tickets is in missions that have a lot of boss spawns, the more that spawn the higher the chances of getting a ticket. So missions like Prepare for Counter Attack and Truth Unveiled are all good places to start. It's also the reason why the easiest (well sort of) gauntlet has the most expensive ticket on the market, since the first boat doesn't have too many missions where you can fight more than 3 bosses per round and most ppl are still trying to get to the level cap.
I'm not 100% sure how the NX will be rewarded. We know that you get 3k NX for each title you obtain, but I'm not sure if it's per character or per account (or if getting different titles on different characters still counts towards your reward). If you so feel inclined, just try to get the title on all your characters and see how much NX you get after the event is over. After all, it's better to get the titles on all your characters and only get 12k NX than it is to get all titles on one character and miss out on a potential of 36k NX (or more if you have more characters for whatever reason).
Also I don't think you can trade those sacks with other ppl, so you will want to complete the gauntlet with your strongest character first, though I may be wrong about the sack.

I got a perilous ruins ticket from Trampled Plains. 5 bosses on that one which I'm sure helps the odds.

Considering you can run most Perilous Ruins missions in under 5 minutes it shouldn't be that hard to obtain a ticket. I didn't know you could sell them though, I'll probably be doing that as I really have no intent to do a Gauntlet again after wasting an hour trying to get through the first one.

Just tried my first Gauntlet run today, was kind of a disaster :( We got as far as the 2 Werewolf bosses, then they creamed us (especially because we had a 37 Lann who kept on dying)
Is there a minimum recommended level or something? And what kind of secondary weapons work best in Gauntlets? I took Spears just to be on a safe side, but it looks like Palalas might have worked better.
I also didn't see many Gauntlet runs being offered in about 2-3 hours of being online. (from around 8-11 EST) Is this normal? I checked all the boats, and besides the one I did, there was only one other which launched without me.
Looks like it might be hard to get ANY title at all at this rate...
