Ever since the update, I keep getting random assistance requests to help new characters out in the very first mission with the woodmen. I accepted the very first one, but the person never said anything, they really didn't need my help at all, and it was just plain weird. I'm not sure why this keeps happening, but it makes me a little nervous. Why do I keep getting requests, and is anyone else having this problem?

I got one assistance request too, at the wood man mission and left after the person didn't even talk back to me. And they were already doing LLLR and LLLLR combos -_-
Trolls maybe.

It's a new system they put in. Whenever you do Mercenary training ground the first, this thing pops up that asks if you need someone for assistant. If you click yes then it's randomly invite someone who's not in a dungeon.

What I found odd is that when you accept and go to 'assist' them, you can't damage any mobs or the boss. At least I couldn't.
On the plus side, accepting is good for a free seal of dedication.

Perhaps the newbie didn't figure out how to talk? There is no obvious chat bar. *ahem*
*happened to me. I requested help and then the helper left 'cus I couldn't figure out how to say hello.

Mine typed exactly only one thing throughout the entire dungeon.... "=)"
Well, at least I had fun trying to kill monsters with 0 damage.

I've gotten a few of these requests as well, and I canceled each one because I thought they were trolls. I just find it hard to believe that someone would seriously need help defeating the woodmen. Because, well, if you really do... you can pretty much forget about playing the rest of the game. :x
The other possibility would be that some newbies are simply curious and/or have itchy fingers and ask for assistance just to see what happens when they push the button, even if they already know how to play.

Well that's interesting.

Well, some newbies could think they might need help, so I don't think you should say they have no hope. It's like taking an inner tube to the beach as a just-in-case thing.

That's true, and a good point. I guess I shouldn't assume the worst case scenario, although I have grown admittedly wary of "random person you don't know wants you to help" kind of situation from other games, so I'm not quite as eager to respond as I used to. Maybe I've just gotten too cynical. ._.

What I want to know is whether or not it only asks people of the same class as the newbie requesting help.
I've only done that once, and the newbie happened to be a Fiona.

Nah, I was just pointing it out. The random requests scare me as well. XD

Funny, the one person I helped was also an Evie.

I accidentally pressed the request button because I was starting out on the KR server and I had no idea what the buttons meant, and it was just for fun really for me.
im sure theres plenty of people with little knowledge of english playing the game P: so dont mind if they're creepy or dont say anything.

Considering you can't do any damage whatsoever to the mobs, I'm assuming this "request for help" is basically you overseeing this person's fight, commenting/suggesting ways to improve, and overall just talking about ways to do better.
That's what I think anyway.

Probably. All the people I've helped are Evies.
It would make sense though. Imagine a Lann trying to teach something to a Fiona.
