The ever popular slice-of-life manga/anime of Japan will be having a new story that will cover the university life of the four former members of the Light Music club and the life of Azusa after the girls graduated. Read the complete details after the jump.
Manga Time Kirara announced that the manga will resume in April 9, 2011 while a separate storyline will be published in Manga Time Carat which will follow on April 28, 2011.
K-On! Kirara will continue the story of the four girls who went on the same university (as stated on the last season of K-On!!) while K-On! Carat will follow the story of Azusa as how did things end up after the graduation.
Long have been a tradition that an anime will end after their high school life and continuing the story during the more serious university life closes a lot of plot opportunity. This rare continuation made a lot of K-On! fans shocked and generated quite a buzz in the moeblob.

I remember not really liking this anime, too plotless, and correct me if I'm wrong but they live in a universe with no males at all right?

Well I'd imagine that once you hit puberty, you don't change looks THAT much ._.;

They really seem to want to milk the series.

Males existed, but no names were given. And almost every anime follows the "plotless school life" build nowadays.

If I recall correctly, the only male with a name and words is Ritsu's younger brother, but I know he only gets 1 line. But really, there are 3 types of anime, School Life, Action, or some freaky mix.

There's only a few months in between graduation and the start of the new school year. o_o
In fact, IIRC in Japan it's only like a month and a half or something. Not that long to grow OLD.

Ehh, lets see, university year, so they'd be 18-ish.
Meh, so, I never really read the manga, but didn't this happen with lucky star? I heard that they graduated and the series KEPT GOING ON AND ON in the manga for a while after, no idea if they had college/university though...
Also.
Moeblob.

Hmm, this is the only anime I've heard of that has high school students continue on to college or uni...

They're ASIAN.
Go me, I'm stereotyping.
I actually never watched this show, though. I keep seeing mixed opinions.
