So...I've heard it's really good, basically a necessity on all characters, because it allows you to roll after being knocked down. How exactly do you do this roll though?
Also, when I mouse over the Standing Endurance skill it says that it takes 0 endurance to roll at Rank 9, but 1 endurance to roll at Rank 8? Is this a typo or is ranking Standing Endurance to Rank 8 a mistake? (I still don't see why a higher rank should cost MORE than a lower rank in terms of endurance spent to use a skill...)

Press the space bar right away when you get knocked down to roll up. And it's not a mistake, as you rank it further it starts to cost stamina to roll up, in turn it adds a good amount to the % of not getting knocked down to begin with. at rank 6 it takes 3 stamina to roll up. When do you not have at least 3 stamina though..

Uh, it is a mistake, because at r9 Standing Endurance, it takes 20 stamina to roll away. The description says it will take 0. For r8, the description says it will take 1 stamina, but it actually takes 19.
It should be something like "Costs you 0
less Stamina to roll after being knocked down by a powerful blow.

Seriously? I'd been avoiding ranking this up as I thought I was getting a free roll at rank 9. This might shed some light on when I thought I'd done everything right and didn't roll away. Perhaps, I was simply lacking the required stamina. I'll have to test this now.

The free roll doesn't really help. Most of the time even if you roll you'll get combo'd by the boss anyways.

it doesnt helps because yu do it rlly slow.
trust me the roll really does make a huge difference. yu get knocked down for 2 sec w.o moving when yu dont roll

It helps. The roll is the only reason I survived many of my blood lord runs before I knew his moves entirely. Same with Irukul and with the three big yeti bosses.
If you're still getting combo'd, I'd say you're choosing poor directions in which to roll.

The roll doesn't let you choose a direction, it always goes back.

Nope. I wrote a description on the Database Page.
When knocked down, you are able to press space and get up more quickly than if you had just waited. It must be pressed at the right time, or you must wait the full duration of the knockdown. You cannot control the direction of this roll, as it is dependent if you are knocked onto your back or stomach.
If on your back, you roll towards your head. Usually directly away from the attack.
If on your stomach, you dash/roll towards your head. Usually perpendicular to the attack.
Just the option of it is nice, especially as you can get back into battle (or stay out and recover) much easier with this option.

Do you even have the ability?
Even if you could only go back, which isn't the case, you get invincible frames while rolling, so it'd still be massively useful.

No, you don't.
You get superarmor frames, which you would even have more of if you stayed on the ground.
But the point of rolling back is to get out of the way so you
don't take any more hits.
And Though it does go more than one direction, the direction is set for you from the moment you are hit, and it usually is backward, so I wouldn't talk about him not having the skill.

When I roll, it's usually forward, except for at Irukul. And there have been times when I accidentally rolled the wrong way (try
into Blood Lord during one of his flurries) and came out with full health. Since the first hit is enough to take down mana shields all the way, how did I live if there aren't invincible frames?
This happens most often when Irukul knocks me against a wall and my camera goes in strange directions, I'll often roll right under his stomping hoof/paw and then blink away with full health still.

Must be lag or a glitch, because I'm a Fiona and I cannot do these at all. I've been killed many times trying to time it right, and I had to learn that the side you face the ground determines the direction you roll.
