Right and you'll just continue to watch crap that is fugly and then watch Evangelion 2 years after this.
Then you'll go...
"Where have I been?"
Pika pikachu pi. Pika pi.
(I believe this has crossed the line in terms of giving respect to popular anime and converging into worship and the detesting non-believers.)

It's really not THAT overrated.
I mean, have you even tried to watch a few episodes?
If so I understand.

Its not a mecha series. I mean, yeah, it looks like it because they're piloting giant robots.
But its more of a drama series about Shinji's development as a man, and the robots they're piloting aren't even robots, nor are there all that many fight scenes. Its an apocalyptic christian series.
I HATE mecha genre too, so yeah.
Its not overrated. I mean, seriously. And I'm willing to say Code Geass was overrated, and I digged that **** (wait... thats a "mecha" too).

Now it kind of sounds appealing to me...
Gonna watch it when I have time.
EDIT: Eff that, I'm too interested now.
Time to watch me some Neon Genesis.

I suggest you start with FLCL and see if you liked the style of the plot.
Eva is a series that moves at a really slow pace.
Like a movie drawn out over 26 episodes.

The ENTIRE soundtrack of FLCL (exception of ep3 fight scene) was by the Pillows.
My favorite Japanese band... well I don't really like other bands in Japan.
Back on topic: GAINEX + LBH would be EPIC.

I taught they removed anime from there ._.
Anyways I'm just gonna stick to this one, don't feel like cutting between episodes.
There probably all the same anyways.

720 HD is better than fail megavids.

I love this series too. Great plot and art style that's not rife with cliche, and character development that puts Evangelion to shame, IMO.

Although, I think the few deaths are an obligatory part of character development, used for the purpose of making you like the surviving characters a bit more; the ones that survived will probably survive until the end, or until the main character may or may not decide to kill them.

To top it off, there are moments of humor that literally catches you off guard.

Lol. When they do decide to remove copyrighted material, they only hone in on the most popular stuff, like recently released movies and recently licensed anime. Old stuff like Evangelion and FLCL tend to slip under their radar.

Unless search failed me, this is the closest thing we have to an actual Biscuit Hammer thread. And it's in the spam zone. D:
