Quote from Cucurbita;372954:
Problem with Maplestory was that the gameplay was focused on DPS.
And with DPS in mind, you will only use ONE attack. Your strongest one. Occasionally this "best" attack might change based on the situation, but its usually just one attack. There are stronger attacks later in the game but usually come with a cool down or something, so it doesn't even count.
Repeat one attack endlessly, use potions. But you don't know this because you're given the illusion of control in your character's stat and skill build, even though everyone just takes the blandly obvious optimum dps build path anyways.
Mabinogi gives you no direction, and tons of options. Players become confused.
The best formula for a successful money making game is to tell the players what they want, while pretending to give them what they think they want.
Cucu, y u so smart?

For me getting started in Mabi was easy because I am used to this kind of freedom as I used to play Runescape all the time.
The combat system took me awhile to get used to but I loved the game enough to take the time to learn it.
Poor Maplestory Players. When Mabi first came out I tried to convert as many people as possible to mabi. I only succeeded with one of my old maple pals. We had a falling out 5 months in the game for some stupid reason. No clue where she is now. All I know is that she was in Tarlach server. Weither she is still there...not a clue.
Sorry I went off on a ramble there. *bows out*
In regards to what Kitaek said, It's sad that people are so bloody stupid and simple that they need a game where they are told where to go. I LOVE games where there is lot of options, variety, and directions you can go!
If only the world wasn't so stupid. Life is about making choices

Yeah, I'd imagine that especially now with how easy it is to level on Maple along with the emphasis on grinding and PQs that the freedom of Mabinogi would be a bit foreign. Rebirthing was a system that I couldn't grasp when I first started, but luckily I joined in OB when there wasn't really a choice to RB.

-You just started Mabinogi-
WHAT THE HELL DO I DO NOW?!?!?!?!?!?!?
-You just started MapleStory-
Okay, so I just go to the right side of the screen, do quests, and kill monsters. Easy enough.
