Dear Nexon Community,
All of us at Nexon would like to express our deepest sympathy to those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last week. As a global company, many friends, family members, and fans of Nexon have undoubtedly been affected by these tragic events. It seems that every day, the scale of the disaster is growing, and we’re very concerned about the health and well-being of those that have gone days without food, water, and other basic supplies. To do our part in the global relief effort, Nexon will donate 100 million Yen (approximately $1.2 million) to aid relief agencies that are helping those affected by these devastating events.
We would also encourage you to help those in need in Japan by donating directly to the following aid agencies:
The Red Cross
International Medical Corps
The Salvation Army
Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres
You can also help from within your Nexon gameplay experience. In addition to Nexon’s donation, from March 14 through March 20, Nexon America will be donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of many of our in-game items to the Red Cross for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami disaster relief efforts.
For more details on the items that will help support these relief efforts in Japan, go to:
MapleStory
Combat Arms
Mabinogi
Dungeon Fighter Online
Vindictus
PopTag!
These donations merely scratch the surface of what is needed to support the overall relief and rebuilding efforts. However, we hope that in some small way, our efforts combined with the rest of the world will help ease the suffering of those affected by these tragic events and remind the people of Japan that people all over the world are thinking of them.
We thank you for your support and for joining us to help those in desperate need.
Daniel Kim
CEO, Nexon America, Inc

If you buy any pet(Mabinogi) or if you buy anything from the Avatar Shop or any Goddess Graces(for Vindictus) during the time period, Nexon will donate 100% of the funds from the bought pet to Japan, I think. 1.2 Million isn't really a lot since the damage is well over, but it helps.

Assuming the 100% sale -> donation is true, that is quite generous of Nexon.

In b4 nobody buys anything during that week because they're too busy doing other stuff.

Before: "Nexon charges so much, what do they do with the money anyways?"
After Reading:
"NEXON YOU ARE GOOD PEOPLE KEEP UP YOUR WORK"
"global company"
"...Wait, your games are IP locked."
Still, very generous! Matching the donations of several other big name companies who helped Japan!

Very generous and thoughtful, considering that they could just do nothing at all.

*looks at price and release date for 3DS*

Very Thoughtful of Nexon and it is tempting but I've never been much of a charitable person in all honesty...that and there's nothing I want to buy in Mabi, Vindictus, or Maplestory atm as my interest in those 3 games are at their all time low atm >.>

If this is true, that is very nice of Nexon.
In fact, I do believe they should introduce a title that you could "Purchase" and wear if you've helped out with the donations.
Like, you know...
ETC the Caring
Gives selfish people a reason to donate and a nice title to those who've really donated from the bottom of their hearts a nice title to wear.

I don't mean to be cynical, but to me, it all sounds like a corporate public relations scheme.

Think of it as a way that they're trying to help Nexon Japan then to maintain their global profit
Guess this means I won't be gacha-ing anytime soon though

Nexon JP is being good.
It's shut down all its servers, and they're going to stay down til the 23rd, acknowledging that if they were to keep them up, the quality of service would be worse than usual and spotty, considering the imposed blackout schedule.
There's even an option to donate your NP! I might consider donating 100NP. Or more.
It's nice to know other branches of Nexon are willing to help. Hopefully not for any sinister capitalist schemes.

That thought did occur to me. But then I thought, who cares? As long as they are donating money, it doesn't matter why.
