90 more successes!! YEAH BOYYYY
Anywho, Frozen Blast. Is it really good? It's quite AP-expensive.
Rank 1 reduces Protection by 12 and Defense by 22.
Are those numbers good for the 347 AP you need for Rank 1?
I'm just a bit skeptical. I'm really interested in the skill though.
Suggestions?

You do know it freezes the enemy which is good for setting up other skills right :D Plus think about it at rank 1 its +12% critical for you :D

Oh, yeah! You're so right!
Thank you!

The Frozen Blast is a very good support skill, but not one of the best since if you used Frozen Blast on the enemy while it's moving, you can miss.

It keeps the enemy stationary as well.

Its a party skill, for sure ._.
Use your pets well if you don't party often.

Well, I like partying a lot. :)
I'm gonna rank it up then. Making the crystals for it looks easy too.
3 Water Crystal, 1 Wind Crystal, 1 Snowball
Snowballs you get from punching those Snowmen in Sidhe Sneachta, I think.

Actually -12% protection would be the same as adding 24% critical. With that, getting the succubus clothing in Rabbie Adv should be much easier.
If making snowballs is the same, you need to gather balls of snow, then handcraft them into snowballs, but from the quest to obtain the skill, it sounds as if one can just whack snowballs right out of snowmen.
What I would like to know though is if the water cylinder effects this skill at all, per-say having a higher def or prot loss or longer freeze time.

The skill is actually wind-based. Wind cylinders add up to 8 seconds (I think, too lazy to check) of freezing time, which is pretty dandy.

Just wondering, does Alchemy Mastery affect Frozen Blast as well?
-
Phunkie wrote on 2010-05-16 22:07
On the Cylinder business, the wiki says:
Using a Water Cylinder or Wind Cylinder will increase freezing time by 1 second.
Using a Tower Cylinder will increase the freezing time by 1.5x.
And I assume AM affects all Alchemy skills. I hope.
Edit:
Confirmed. Alchemy Mastery affects the freezing time of Frozen Blast. Got it from the JP wiki.

Getting the snowballs are really really easy to get... And they drop alot too. In about 20-30 min you can fill up an entire inventory (+Bag) and they stack too
The only hard part is the trip from Sidhe to Talli. And that is alleviated with housing coupons.

If monsters use the same defense fourmla as humans
-22 more def is 22 more dmg you do
then 12 protecion is 12% less dmg taken out of the dmg done to the monster when you attack it
And with the extra crit with some decent range or melee skills it would make an excellent party skill
That assumes if how monster dmg is caculated like humans def is a number taken from base dmg and prot is a %
If thats true and it freezes + like r1 smash or mag@_@

I'm gonna get this skill too. Thanks for the return coupon idea.

2 questions I have about this. Is it -22 def and 12% prot while they are frozen or does it carry over till after the freeze. If so does it stack. Like for example if I go into siren HM and freeze her 5 times will she have 0% prot from skill stacking? If so this skill is major win and I will rank it after blaze.
