So I finally got this game working, now I need some questions/answers, (note that I haven't played since the time pirates were just about to come out)
1. Whats the newest servers and about when did it come out?
2. Active MS forums?
3. Are the original classes still worth choosing?
Hiccup wrote on 2010-11-01 20:15
1) Go with an active one. Newer ones aren't always better because depending on when you play (and this sucks for me) People aren't always PQ'ing :U
2) Basilmarket lol
3) Yes if their your thing.

Eh, then I don't have a single idea which server to chose then. Hell, I can probably just server jump if needed. o_o
I was googling MS forums and remembered Sleepywood, I'll sign up for Basilmarket, which I use to use too, until they reset my trade record.
Answer for 3 doesn't help >:(
Just curious if the newer classes are superior/more popular to the original, etc. o_o

The adventurer classes are good, and they get better after the Big Bang patch that's coming up in winter. If you remember the builds for them when you played last, then it's still that, except that most likely the AP builds all pretty much call for Pure Str/Int/Luk if your a Warrior, Mage, or Sins respectively. Archers and Pirates need their secondary stat to equip weapons to get more damage. Warriors don't need Dex for their weapons, and you can always enchant your equips for Accuracy and Dex. Mages' magic attack is based purely on Int, so having more Int is more beneficial than having a low Luk to equip weapons in the long run. Sins' pretty much use Lucky 7 until 4th Job, and since the skill's damage is based on Luk, having only 25 Dex you get for promoting to Thief from Beginner, and using Maple equipment will be damaging.
Cygnus Knights are great secondary characters, but I wouldn't main one. They get 6 AP per level, so they can out damage an Explorer of the same level easily, but they're also capped to level 120, and that 6 AP per level only applies until level 70, in which it's back to 5 AP, meaning that they'll only be on par with Explorer's until the Explorer is around level 140, by then the Explorer is better than the Cygnus Knight. But as for skill wise, they're mostly like their Explorer counterpart, except their attacks have an added element to them (Warrior/Fighter = Light, Archer/Ranger = Wind, Thief/Sin = Shadow, Mage = Fire, Pirate/Brawler = Lightning), and they lose a few skills and get a couple more. Examples being good, like the Dawn Warrior, Wind Archer, Night Walker, and Thunder Breaker losing skills their counterparts rarely use (HP Recovery, Arrow Blow, Double Stab, Double Shot respectively), and get a crappy summoning skill. Blaze Wizards, however, give up MP Recovery and Magic Bolt to get a crappy summoning skill. So, like I said, great for a side character for when you're bored with your main, but I wouldn't main a Cygnus Knight.
Then we got the Legend Classes. Arans are your Warrior Legend, and primarily use Pole Arms. They are mob kings, since even their normal attack can hit multiple enemies at the same time. They also get a combo meter that boosts the Aran's stats the higher the combo is, meaning more damage. They also get skills that allow the Aran to absorb HP, knockback the enemies and reach higher mastery with a pole arm, meaning more stable damage. The biggest downside to an Aran is that it takes a little skill to play and not just mash one button over and over again to kill the enemy (and at the same time, you really only can use one button to attack), since you have to perform combos to damage higher leveled monsters and bosses. So unless you only want to attack once every 2 seconds because of the normal attack cooldown, you also will eat through a lot of MP to attack, so unless you're funded, it's not that great of an advantage. Of course, you can spam Kerning Subway/Nett's Pyramid, and not be affected, since they spawn a ton of mobs, and the rewards give out MP pills, so you don't have to worry about those.
Then there's the Mage Legend, the Evan. Evan is great, in the sense that you have a huge variety of skills, dealing in multiple elements, and you have access to a good mob control skill at level 20. You will also max out most of your skills, so you can't really screw up your Evan at all, since there are a ton of quests that reward SP. Evans are also tankier than most Mages, since they have 4 extra equipment slots for the Evan's dragon, which means more Defense and Magic Defense. But they, like the Blaze Wizard, don't have the MP Recovery skill, and they also don't have the Max MP Increase skill, and their skills use up quite a bit of MP, so you're going to eat through Mana Elixers like candy. They also can't learn every skill they have access to without NX, so unless you're going to main an Evan and plan to play for a long time, or if you have extra cash to throw around, then I wouldn't bother with an Evan other than experiment.
Dual Blades are an Explorer class, per se, saying as they start out as Beginners and class change into Thieves. They're like Bandits in the sense that they attack quickly and multiple times. And they also are decent at mobbing, since many of their skills attack multiple enemies. Since as their names imply, they're a dual wielding class, meaning that they have a higher attack than Bandits, and the Kataras that they use also boost the DB's HP, so they're slightly better at melee fighting than Bandits. However, the largest and main problem with DB's are like Evans. They require NX to learn most of their skills past level 5, and the DB's skills are more expensive than the Evan's. The Evan has access to packages that only cost like $7 to get all of their skills, along with free weapons and scrolls. DBs don't have any packages anymore, and each book almost cost as much as both packages for an Evan, so the Dual Blade class, unless you're devoting yourself to that character, don't even bother with the DB.
And with the Big Bang patch comes the Resistance classes. So far, released in KR are the Wild Hunter (Crossbowman mount rider), Battle Mage (an buffer that focuses on melee attacks and boosting the party's offense compared to the Cleric's healing and defensive boosts), and Mechanics (Gunslingers that ride on mechs) from the videos shown so far are completely haxed and nearly broken.
So as of right now, I would make an Explorer class of your choice, and then maybe think about switching over to a Resistance class after Big Bang arrives, because all of the Resistance classes are awesome. I wrote up a good description for each Resistance class somewhere in this thread, or a different thread talking about the Big Bang patch somewhere, going more into detail about what makes those classes so amazing.

1. Yellonde - before Pirates
Demethos - Pirates
Galicia - Aran or Evan, don't remember
2. [
SleepyWood][
BasilMarket][
SouthPerry][
EllinForest]
3. Definitely. I actually prefer Adventurers. The top 5 in DPM/ DPS mainly consists of Adventurers. Dual Bladers are near the top, but if you don't want to spend NX on skills, then don't make one. Evans need NX for skills as well.

Ah, great game. Managed to play for 4+ hours no problem. Logged off for about an hour or so to eat/etc. Went back on, random d/c's with no errors a min or two into the game. Seems like old problems like to stick to me. One of the main reasons why I quit previously. If I can't manage to fix this, I guess I probably won't bother with MS ever again unless I get a new computer or something.

Does it happen more then once?
Did you send a ticket to nexon?
Did you post on any of the fansites/official forums about it? People usually have some answers considering the hundreds of millions that play

Late reply but I managed to get it working by re-installing it. I assumed my sisters Private Server hackshield was messing with the original MS.
Also, to answer the questions. Yes. No. No.
