TIP: If you wish to have your bear at a high level, then level it before growing it. The pet's combat power will increase with their size/skill ranks making it harder to level!
There are some negative side-effects from changing its size
Critical Hit, Healing, Lightning Bolt, and Rest skill ranks will decrease!
warning: Dull weeding hoe can only be obtained by buying the said pets, do not throw it away!
Also, the quality of the Magic Tofu will not affect how much growth is given, as long as you don't fail the dish. In other words, a 3 star dish will affect the bear the same as a 5 star dish.
Failure to make magic tofu will make "Mashed magic tofu" which will give a much less growth boost.
It will take a lot of Magic Tofu for there to be noticeable difference in size
I'll break it down into two parts, part one you do only once, part two you spam.
Part 1:
a) Obtain a Bean by using a Dull weeding hoe in the dunbarton potato field (dull weeding hoe come with the two new growing pets)
b) Give one Bean to Muro, the Ceo Island Goblin, he will give you a Fomor Bean
. -drag the bean from your inventory and click on him
c) Talk to Goro, the Alby arena goblin while holding a Fomor Bean, he will give you the keyword "Magic Bean"
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/Mabinogi/keyword.jpg]
Side note: Beans and Fomor Beans are trade-able
although, you cannot use a friend's Fomor bean to skip the ceo part
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/Mabinogi/albymagicbean.jpg]
Part 2:
a) use the "Magic Bean" keyword with the Alby arena goblin(Goro) and he will give you a Alby Magic Bean pass, you can get as many passes as you want.
b) inside alby magic bean pass you will find instead of herbs, Magic Bean plants. Pick up as many Magic Beans from them as you can, They stack up to 5 taking 1 inventory space
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/Mabinogi/magicbean2.jpg]
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/Mabinogi/magicbean.jpg]
c) Clear the dungeon and in the end chest you will get a random amount of Coagulant(that yellow liquid, I call it cog for short) (random amount is 4~8)
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/Mabinogi/cog.jpg]
This can stack up to 10, taking 1 inventory spaced) Go to the Windmill in tir, pay allisona to run it, grind up 5 Magic Beans at a time, each success will give you a Magic Bean Powder.
Success rate is not affected by party bonus.
e) using the cooking skill (rank novice is fine) mix together Water, Magic Bean Powder and a Cog
80% Magic Bean Powder, 5% Cog, 15% Water
[Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h215/carlos_el/magictofu.jpg]
The length of the "add" button is equal to 30% of the bar and the spaces between each button is 5%
It doesn't matter if it's 3 stars or 5 stars, as long as you didn't completely fail the dish, making "Mashed tofu" it will grow by the same amount.
Obtaining the Cooking Skill
* Talk to Glenis in Dunbarton about skills. She will give you the book "Step-By-Step Cooking Skill 101". Read it to learn the skill.
* The book "Step-By-Step Cooking Skill 101" can also be bought from Krug in Vales for 500g.
*Note that the Alby Magic Bean pass does not have to be solo, it is like alby normal except the boss is six multi aggro Green Sarracenia. Every end chest will drop cog.

They are magical monsters, please be careful as you can get magic spammed.
To answer a commonly asked question: Is the size permanent? The answer is yes.
