My first Metallurgy trip - 36 Unknown Ores, 4 Iron Ores, 3 Gold Ores, 16 Mythril Ores, 1 Silver Ore
Which explains why I hate it.
Rank Metallurgy on an alt.
Low-ranked 'lurgy is for unknowns.
High-ranked 'lurgy is for everything else.

well i am r2 at moment with just 50 dex :D
i clearly didnt rank my metallurgy since that gives dex....
buying off ppl is clearly more easier (unless not many ppl dont sell what u need) (clearly for me trying to find mythril in dunba...)

If you can't find mythril for sale for cheap on your server, then run the paladin mythril dungeon. It's like barri, but the ore piles have nothing but mythril in them.
Seriously, refine is super easy. Why does anyone have any trouble with it?

im doing refine atm with only 88 dex the hard part is getting past the locked doors to where the ore is as im only a combined lvl of 52 ugh
still takes soooooo much refining to get anywhere in the skill tho like 4 trips of a full inventory of ores to get it up once
i use (and break) 1 n a half pick axes each time i go in aswell lol
but repairing is so cheap for the mari dung where the ores are at so not complaining and simply paying for the use of a furnace is better than choping fire wood so the runing around time for refining is pretty small really just gotta live there
You should note that the firewood furnaces reduce success chance by a flat out 5%, and then 1% further per quality level of the firewood used.

The fact that it takes forever to get ores, and then you blow them off in less than 5 minutes.

That's a good thing though. Collect as much as possible during the week and when the weather/daily bonus is right for fails or successes, you burn through the mats.

Going to say this now, considering I've done both weaving and refining. Refining is better to do first.
1) you need fails in it, in weaving you don't.
2) The added Dex from Refining will benefit your weaving when you get around to it.
3) Because the outcome of silks and fabrics are less predictable, even though it looks like it will be easier to do, you can't guarentee that it will go faster.
4) The hell ranks of refining come much later then the hell ranks of weaving. Refining gets hard at rank 4-2 (depending on who you ask, I only found rank 2 annoying), where as weaving's first hell rank is D, then A, 9, etc. point is, they are very low and because of that people give up on weaving quickly.

D was indeed a nightmare. I would seriously, seriously rather do rank 8 100 times as opposed to
any fabric-heavy ranks.
Those hell ranks of refining are only particularly ruthless if you gather your own mats. Refining is relatively inexpensive to purchase materials for, compared to weaving. Ironically, I would rather gather my materials for weaving than pay for them, which effectively means that any fabric-intensive rank will reduce my training progress to a crawl, even with 3-4 wool collection pouches.
