Meh. Vejosa's a pretty good mage as far as I'm concerned. To be honest, the only downside I see to being a giant mage is that all your intermediate magics require more mana to cast, leading to more pot use, more mat use, less endurance, etc. I haven't really looked at the race/age bonuses, though.

Generally, Age 16 is a good age for Giant Mages, and 17-20 onwards is the best stat growth a Giant Mage can get IMO.
In general, Giants can do three-week free rebirths and have excellent growth.

Bolts are relatively cheap either way xD They're still good for intellect gain.
I'd also like to comment on Vejosa's post o: If you say giants don't need enchants for critical because of their superior will and can focus on MP enchants, doesn't that mean that elves and humans don't need to waste enchants for MP and focus on critical? So it kinda ends up balancing out? :what:

No.
Unless giant have enough WIL to make their base crit go up to 80+ (highly impossible), they still would need to invest in critical enchant if they want to crit thing in elite/hard mode mission. A giant investing in MP+ enchants is typical/obvious due to their low mana base/high mp cost for spell.

Giants have the highest will out of any other race. It's a small difference, but a noticeable one none the less.
Personally, I would be inclined to lean more towards mana efficiency, then critical, but that's just me. Unfortunately, it's harder for giants to obtain a -MP set than any other race because our clothing selection sucks. Giants have 40 less potential mana to gain than elves/humans, but the most crippling part is the additional mana required for spells.
I'm sure some would disagree, instead going for INT/Mana or Mana/Crit, etc.
Elves needing more AP to rank magic? Psh, that's nothing. Needing more mana to cast spells? Now that's more annoying.
Granted, i'm no Vejosa, but i've been looking into it, and I sort of know Giants.

I have rank nine rest, two rank one bolts and a rank five bolt and I'm not complaining.

That's easy for you to say because you're a pure mage (IIRC)
Switching from a Ranger->Mage for Elves is annoying, because you have to spend so much more AP. Except an Elf's Bolts are pretty much the same as a Human's bolts.

A mana reduction set is really all you need to worry about. I personally don't go for mana enchants and go for Int and Crit/Luck enchants. Just invest in potion making and you don't have to worry about mana. A giant with 300 MP and 10 MP100's potions has as much MP as a human with 1,300 MP. With mana herb prices dropping due to homesteads it's even easier to make up for lacking MP.
