How do you go about getting materials that are required for blacksmithing?
If you make them or obtain them yourself, how's your routine like? E.g. cut how much sheep wool per day, and when do you make the materials required?
If you buy them, how's your buy routine like? Do you collect every single material you need, or is there something that you will always need to collect?

Sit around with a mule with sign buying leathers. Go do some stuff, come back to check mailbox, and buy them.
Iron Ingots, I can always get from rafting, but the biggest problem for Blacksmithing is the lack of leathers.

That's with R1 Thunder on rafting right?
Is it very taxing on MP, or do you have a lot of it?
How many people do you bring along with you when you raft for iron ingots?

It's not hard to get the requirements for iron ingots with just using AR, imo. And this is soloing.

Not really. I always end up with more MP pots than I actually use each time I raft. I make my own mana pots.
I usually bring one more other person or if I solo, I just use AR.
Both AR and Thunder is r1 though...

Its all about the leathers once you get past rank 9. Unfortunatly on NA servers their is not even close to enough fine/finest leathers to go around. Outside of leathers i generally will stick some sheep and make 100 stacks of thicks and thins and turn them into braids each week. If ihave a good supplier of ingots ill just buy them since i usually raft for other things. Keeps the monotony down some.

With Rank F Thunder, Mana Reduction, and at least 300 MP, you can get through the entire river without using more than one or two MP100s. Refill with trans at the second stop and at a mana tunnel in between runs. This is with a -16% usage normal Lightning Wand, a Crystal Lightning Wand would be much better. I can usually get up to 16 stars total with Rank F.

May I ask how his idea fails? I honestly think that it's a brilliant idea to get more stars.

Actually, I can see how it fails, just because Thunder is rank F.
See, the efficiency of getting iron ingots is just not there. With R9 Thunder, I'm struggling to get 2 stacks of iron ingots per full run with 2 characters.
And I use more than 1-2 100 mps. I use about 3-4 per run.
If say each run is 2 stacks, and each stack is worth 35k over here. Each full rafting run is 15-18 minutes. So it's about 140k per in-game day. Much lesser if I have to get mana herbs, so it is very troublesome. With holy water I make about 190k per in-game day and I also gain part-time job counts. I'd rather earn that money and buy the iron ingots instead.
I'll just wait till my Thunder ranks up further for efficiency to go up, so that I can raft both for my training and for profit.

Well obviously you'd want to rank Thunder if you want to maximize profit. I just don't see myself using it outside of rafting so I'd rather save my AP for more appealing things - like Blaze.
Though, even with Rank F, it's possible to get the Iron Ingot reward at all 3 stops. It's already pretty efficient for people who don't want to dualbox or bring other people.

Use a bow instead of thunder. Prof bow and sell it for 70k. Rafting is nice because you don't lose blessings when you die.

How do you make 190k per in game day with holy water? Does it cost 190k per stack on your server?

Holy water is 20-25k per stack here.
I can get 9 stacks every 36 minutes (1 in-game day).

I think AR is a much better alternative on the rafting boat for lesser rewards.
With your high dex, you could easily get 3x iron ingot / mana herb rewards on one rafting trip.
Even I can pull it off with only 220 dex.

^Is this with you soloing and getting rewards at each stop? Or are you going with two others and getting the rewards at the very end? I find that it's somewhat difficult to get 16-18 stars on the middle part with just AR, unless you get very lucky and crit often. I have to use thunder for the middle stop in order to get ingots there, while soloing.
