Drip drip drip, kerplunk.
With each step, my heart beat faster and faster. The roads were lit by not only the lights of the building, but by the beautiful moon that was caught in an eternal residence over the city. Here and there, buildings had boarded up doors or broken windows. A few cars littered the streets, but only every quarter mile or so. There was a huge clearing ahead; the town square perhaps? Stopping and resting on a bench, I looked up to the sky and began to worry myself.
'What am I doing? Surely if I ran, they would come look for me.'
I grew sadder as I thought this and only knew it was a matter of time before I was caught and sent back to that white place. That place that had no reason for being there, but it was. I quickly stood up and walked over to a water fountain. It was silver but looked as if it began to rust. Strangely, the spout hadn't rusted just yet so the water is presumably safe. Gathering water in my hand, I began to splash my face. The city looked as if it were cold, but it really was hot if you wore this skin tight cloak.
Turning around, I began to leave the town square and head towards the city exit. I walked by a large skyscraper that was still lit up. I stared at the top and saw huge TV screens. They were fizzling about and showing only a scarce scene of some show now and again. The show looked boring anyway, but I decided to watch it for a second because I saw something familiar. As I stared intently, I saw the figure of a boy wearing red and yellow. He was with what seemed like a dog thing and a duck.
Shaking my head to clear it, I started walking again. Not as soon as I walked out of the square, did I see and hear a man speak behind me. I stopped and stood there as I listened to what he said.
"Your mind's made up?" he asked me. I turned around and responded.
"Why did the keyblade choose me? I have to know." I said as I turned my head to look at the man. He was wearing the same outfit as I. His hair was spiky and red, his body slender, and his eyes where a shocking teal. This man was my best friend, whom had always been there for me. He seemed concerned about me.
"You can't turn on the Organization! You get on their bad side, and they'll destroy you!" he yelled at me as I turned to face forward. I let the words sink in before speaking again.
"No one would miss me." I had turned my face a little to the right before I started to regret saying this. I regret because as I walked, I heard him speak again.
"That's not true....I would..." he said sadly. I kept walking so he wouldn't see that I had heard him. A tear rolled down my eye as I opened a portal and walked through it.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember what happened after that. Maybe I got away? Maybe I was captured? I'll never know now seeing as I am once again with my somebody. I am happy because I allowed for him to defeat the one man I despised. For that, I deserve to fade back into oblivion.
