~Introduction~
Thank you for your interest in Paradox Academy. We are a guild that is geared towards teaching new members about the game, and we constantly work towards giving great first-impressions of Mabinogi for every newbie. We are not, by any means, a guild for Hardcore PvP or high ranked life-skilled players, or even of high-leveled players. It IS, however, a place for anyone to come looking for a family that you can spend time with and share any experiences you've had. This means that even if you have a total level of 7000, you will be treated the same way as a player who has just started. If you do not like this fair treatment, we suggest you look for another guild.
~Guild Stone~
Our Guild Stone is located South of Tir Chonaill, slightly southwest of Ferghus’s Shop and directly south of the middle bridge.
~Our History~ (Terms are coined by Paradox Academy Members)
Old Paradox
Paradox Guild existed from the dawn of NA Mabinogi. First led by a great leader named “Maohâ€, he and his Paradox Guild Members constituted the Beginning of Paradox.
New Paradox
After Maoh had left Mabinogi, leadership was passed onto Hoam (Do note that their names are palindromes ;D), who was another splendid leader and a personal close friend of mine. Very patient and decisive, Hoam led some of the Old Paradox members as well as new members toward further development of the Guild.
Paradox Academy
Paradox Leadership was then passed onto another personal friend of mine, Seox. He named the new guild, “Paradox Academyâ€, as he wanted the guild to be a haven for new players who may be new to the Mabinogi gameplay. He was an extremely calm and mature individual who was my role model for leadership, and I respect him very much. He has left the game, but is continuously active on Skype, Mincraft (lol), and the Guild Website. He has relinquished all authority, but I still consult him for many things, both in and out of Mabinogi.
Paradox Academy, the Fourth Generation
With the name coined in by one of our officials, this is who we are: Paradox Academy, the Fourth Generation. As the new leader, I have agreed to take care of the guild until I will need to pass its leadership to someone else. Would YOU like to take part in our Generation?
~Policies~
Paradox Academy is a casual guild, but we want all our members to be trustworthy and noble. While we call ourselves an academy, we rarely have classes or strict schedules. Rather, we operate on a peer tutoring system, where any members can teach all the other members, and encourage all members to get along with each other, like students in a school. Paradox Academy features a ranking system, where a player is awarded with a higher rank every time they meet the requirement for that rank. The ranking will be explained later. While we trust higher ranked individuals more than other members, and give them more privileges, all members are expected to respect other members regardless of rank.
~Application~
If you have already applied at the guild stone, please complete the application on our website and wait for our response; we will give you an answer within 24 hours. (Our website is paradoxacademy.guildlaunch.com). You will immediately be accepted in-game if you are accepted on the website. If you have not applied at the guild stone, please complete the website application first and apply at the guild stone stating that you applied on the website with a short greeting.
~Our Purpose~
When playing an online game, all players realize that it gets boring after a while if they continuously play by themselves. Paradox Academy's members already know of this fact, and keep each other company in any time. I repeat: We are not a group of pros--We are a family. Members will often find themselves talking about their real life day, and often enjoy the simple dungeon runs or shadow missions that used to bore the living daylights out of them
~Policy on Guild Service~
We have a unique guild system where the leader will possess Premium Service every other month: On the months without service, the guild will close down for a month. By no means does this mean all the members become inactive; all members will continue to play as if we had guild service. However, during this period, no member will be able to leave or be invited—we would like to forewarn all applicants of this fact.
~Ranking~
I would like to describe a small bit about our ranking.
When a new member joins, the member will be added to the guild with the rank of “Cadetâ€, which defines a new member. Even members of high levels must progress through this stage.
The Student rank is next, where the member is seen to be an official member of Paradox. We have a small requirement of “Renown Points†for this rank that can be achieve merely through participation.
The Neophyte rank is for the Senior Members of the guild who have been on the roster for a longer period of time, and are slightly more experienced with the game.
The Most Important Rank: Paragon. Paragon is a term used to describe the individuals who have shown that they will be very trustworthy and helpful to the growth of the guild, and are handpicked by myself after long consideration. The most important factor of the Paragon rank is trust.
Paragon Elite and Elite Ranks, Not necessarily higher than the Paragon rank, these ranks are designed for the players much more experienced than the guild’s Neophyte rank requirements. The Elite rank is designed for the outstanding (in terms of game experience) members who have not yet acquired the “trust†factor needed to become a Paragon. This is very common for high leveled players.
Grand Paragon Rank is specifically designed for the Officials of the Guild, and according to the Creator of the ranking system, should never be more than 4 at once. Grand Paragon ranking is the absolute ranking for the members with supreme authority, and may be rewarded with the strict observation of the other Grand Paragons.
~Forceful Expulsion~
Even if we will have alternating service status, it does not mean we cannot expel members who are causing trouble for the guild. While I personally do not like to expel members, if other officials and I decide you have exceeded your limits, we will purchase service and expel you. We have the resources and authority to do so.
Thank you for reading the extremely long preview of Paradox Academy ~The Fourth Generation~! Please feel free to ask me questions anytime =)
