Yeah there really isn't any cropping tool in WMM.

You should probably try to get a better program.

mm, you could try the sony vegas pro trial. 30 day, easy pan&crop. It'll make it look much better. The basics aren't too hard to figure out, either.

+much better effects.

The framing fail isn't WMM's fault, methinks. Someone chose the wrong option and added the padded borders, which compounded one on top of another due to the aspect ratio conversions from the video source -> Chokeh's encoding output options -> youtube's presentation. ;( I don't remember if the latest WMM has cropping or not, but one solution is to crop the source video using VirtualDub's Null Filter crop, and save the video in an uncompressed format. Then you can import that into WMM and do your editing/effects work from there.

Yay someone who knows virtualdub.
Every time I suggest it people don't even know what I'm talking about so I just stopped trying. These days everything is vegas or WMM.
