Hm, another week went by without anyposts at all. Wow, I'm inactive. I prolly will post more in 2 week when I get outta school :thumb:
Anyways.. So, I've been getting to sleep very late these days. Like, at 1 or 2 AM. I usually wake up at 7:30.. that makes 5.5-6.5 hours of sleep. For you guys, its an "eh", but for a 12 year old, thats not healthy (turning 13 in 3 months ftw). Like, really unhealthy. I eventually started sleeping in 3rd period, not that my grade dropped or anything(still an A :D). Well, people start laughing.
Its like my body adapted to being nocturnal. Or something. I just don't get tired until after 12 AM. Anyone know how to get to sleep at 11...? Or so? Maybe napping tips? I dunno, something that will get me out of looking like a vampire every day I wake up. And no, I don't sparkle.
Sleeping goals:
1 AM [ ]
12 AM [ ]
11 PM [ ]
10 PM [ ]

Don't take naps, those just make you less tired and less likely to fall asleep (imo). Also, it can take as little as 2 late nights to reset your internal clock to a later hour.
I'm postan this at 3:50 AM, so I'll just monitor this thread for some else's ideas. o.o

With SSR in 3rd period, its kinda hard to stay up, especially with a book you've read about 4 times already.

Oh, I understand that, but you're usually gonna spend ~16 hours awake (I average 9-11 hours of sleep per day, so I'm a VERY BAD comparison :P). The more daylight hours you're asleep the more nighttime hours you stay up to keep it even.

Sounds like how i used to be.
I'm a similar age to you, and when i was your age i slept very late as well. Just last night i was up at 12:00AM because i was memorising a score for a music test tomorrow(THATISFREAKINGDAMNSCARYANDIMPORTANT). I started using sleeping pills to help me fall asleep faster. I've always been known by friends and family as a bad sleeper, my eyes show it even in pictures of me when i was 5 years old, so sleeping late didn't help. I live by a busy street and i have grown accustomed to trucks passing on a regular basis, but not noisies that don't occur as frequently (e.g. My dog barking, or a drunk shouting on early Friday morning). These noises wake me up in an instant. Even a guy strumming his guitar quietly nearby woke me up before. The sleeping pills helped me get better sleep, but it didn't always work. Some days i just woke up extremely groggy. Nowadays i set a goal to get to sleep to 10:30PM, unless i have important tasks to do. Here's what i did to get this goal accomplished:
-Get home after school (4:50PM for me), take a shower immediately (Unless you shower in the morning)
-Take a break for half an hour or so
-Start homework, and finish it. (Music helps, and close your bedroom/study door.)
-When homework is finished (assuming around 6~7PM) practice piano
-Do what ever you want!/have dinner
-Check if you have anymore homework, and clean up your schoolbooks
-Pack your schoolbag (so you don't have to wake up early the next day to do it) and have some down-time (read a book, watch something on T.V for a while)
-Go to sleep! (Normally this is around 10:30~11:00)
*Since you sleep so late, it'll obviously be difficult for you to fall asleep at 10:30PM. I just eventually slept a little earlier each week and took some sleeping pills to get me to fall asleep faster. You should ask your parents before you take sleeping pills though - alot of them are herbal based and who knows what kind of reaction you may have. And always follow the directions on the pack!
There's something fantastic about knowing that you have done all your homework and that you can now do whatever you want without having to worry about it at the same time. Procrastination is BAAAAD. D<
Anyway, this is my little daily schedule and it does vary, especially when i have an assignment of sorts, so sleeping times do get up to 12:30AM. I wake up at 6:30AM daily so i know how important sleep is. I find that i get extremely drowsy during Science unlike any other classes i have. It's weird!
Anyway, i hope this helps a little. This may actually be a little easier for you, since you seem to wake up later and get home earlier, so you'll have more of a chance to do your homework and have more free time. The main reason why i didn't get much sleep before was because i left things to the last minute, and stayed up late to finish them. I still get some major procrastination days when i'm really not bothered to do anything. Just don't do it everyday.
Good luck! :)

Drink a glass of warm milk about a bit before your desired bedtime. Not only does it fortify a growing body, but also helps put that body to sleep.

Okay, these uh... tips, I should say, should work. Heres my goal schedule for now. With a checklist:
7:30AM-8:00AM Wake up, breakfast, feed the cat, etc.
8:00AM-3:30PM School
3:30PM-5:00PM Shower, hommurks, video games
5:00-6:00PM mom gets back, pretend I wasn't playing video games
6:00-7:00PM dinner
7:00PM-10:00PM random crap, video games, etc
10:00PM-11:00PM read, milk, bed
Seems like a pretty good plan, maybe I can pull it off. Hey, can you give me a number crunch real quick... 32.3333333333...% chance of completion.

You do sparkle. Don't lie.
Also, it helps if you take a warm bath/shower on the night and then turning off everything in your room at 10PM.
I did that because I had to do a sleep test. Now I just go to sleep at 1-2 o.o
