I have a problem with my headphones/jack that when I put it in the music will play out of both the speakers and the headphones which sucks. Not only that but the music only comes out of the right headphone. If I wiggle it around the music will only come out of the headphones but still thats a pain in the @ss. My ipod is jailbroken btw. So if its a software problem anyone know the problem? But im pretty sure its a hardware problem. Going to apple tommarow but If I can fix it here all the better.

Pretty sure that would just be a problem with the wires...?

usually when wiggling fixes ur problem then the problem lies in the hardware (cord)
thats how it always is for me at least
and apple makes really shoddy quality ones at that so im not surprised one bit

Yeah, the wire on Apple's headphones is plain terrible, so you should just go buy some $5 headphones that'll last twice as long. Plus, that'll solve your problem o .o

Don't go to apple with a Jailbroken iPod they'll charge you and say that you voided your warranty.
First at least check if it's the apple headphones if not restore then go to apple.

It's an apple product. That's the problem.
Try using different headphones. It could be the jack or the wiring that's broken.
If that doesn't fix it, it's likely the socket. Try cleaning it out somehow.
If that fails, then you'll have to get it checked.

You need new earbuds. The cord is breaking.
JVC Gumy is nice for $10, sounds better too.

Perhaps get some that are actually worth the work, time, material and money put into them.
Here's a huge list of reasonably in-depth reviews to read through.
Personally I've bought the Beyerdynamic DT 235 just today when I noticed they were down to 36€.

Well I figured out that it was the hardware. I did go to apple but my warranty there ran out. (I restored my ipod) So I sent it out to a company that I bought an extended 2 year warranty from. 7-10days without music ;~;
