Dayum son. That is the most epic way of finding Mabinogi that I have ever heard of.
Welcome to the Nation.

It appears that the Red Mage guild is actually going to start growing, which is awesome, since now we have three Red Mages and an honorary one (only because Kitae cosplayed as one), so welcome, welcome.
And trust me, you can be a Red Mage in this game, both in terms of ability and looks.

This dude likes Monster Hunter? You're an automatic bro now.
Also to people hating on WoW, please shut up. A couple of my real life pals play WoW and they're not addicted to it at all. Rather they say the only annoying thing about it is having to spend monthly to play, otherwise it's a good game (Not to mention I'm pretty sure some WoW players spend less money on WoW than some kids do on F2P games like Maplestory and Mabinogi).
That makes me.... AN AUTOMATIC BRO?!

On request of Arsik, Red Mage #2 salutes you, Thief. =D

Red Mages are totally doable in Mabinogi. The four combat skill sets of Mabinogi are Melee, Ranged, Magic, and Alchemy. With Mabinogi's freedom of choice in choosing which skills you want to train on and use in combat, it's entirely possible to hybridize into both Melee and Magic at the same time~

Mabinogi's style of combat is more related to Monster Hunter than World of Warcraft or Ragnarok Online.

Hi,
My username usually involves the fruit cantelope, remix, or variations of thief. I was lead here by searching a story about a man in Brazil who built a car out of junk. Since then, my interest in mabinogi was piqued and I decided to browse around the site.
The past MMO's I've played are WoW, RO, and Monster Hunter.
Every game I play, I always try to make my favorite class into a reality - the final fantasy red mage. I'm looking forward to exploring mabinogi when I'm done with my studies.
Other than that I hope to get to know more people on this site. :)
I like you already. So many people say "peaked" instead. XD

I hope you enjoy yourself. :) Have fun!!

Welcome to the Nation!
But like... the Red Mage? Why? I mean, I know he's fine and all... I always just preferred to have a Black Mage and White Mage in case I needed to both wipe out a horde of enemies and heal someone at the same time. And don't Red Mages not get higher levels of magic? Or do I recall incorrectly?...

Hey, you seem pretty cool :D Welcome!
Yeah because of Mabinogi's way of letting you use any skill, it's very possible to be a jack of all trades too, as I would know xD
Welcome to Nation and I hope you enjoy playing Mabi :D

It's true, but Red Mages make up for their weaker magic by being able to dual cast their magic, so it's just as strong, if not stronger than a Black Mage's single more powerful spell~ And being able to equip a decent amount of armor allows the Red Mage to tank a few hits without having to worry on focusing on healing, and with their ability to wield actual weapons, they can fight against enemies when the Red Mage runs out of MP or is Silenced. That's the thing about being a Jack of All Trades, you can do it all, even if you're only decent at it~
[s]And of course, if you're like me, who's a Red Mage that has a subclass of Red Mage, you can dual cast your dual cast, thus getting four spells off in a single turn, definitely doing more damage than a Black Mage~[/s]
