How to crack a password

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Somehow, the admin password on my computer has been changed. I want to play League of Legends (and "work"(procrastinate) on my homework, but I can't because of the damn password! I tried the Ophcrack live cd, yet it does not work. I attempted using a different rainbow table than the one provided but it doesn't fit on the cd :gloom2:

Is there any way to find the password on my computer? I was thinking of using l0phtcrack, but I have no idea how to get it onto a Linux bootable CD.

My OS is Windows 7.

Are you using encryption for your documents and whatnot? If you are not, you can just delete your password using Offline NT Password & Registry Editor.

If you are using encryption and you just delete your password, the encrypted files will not be recovered, so watch out for that. :P
