Synopsis by One Manga
The world is in mortal peril. Sir Noi Crezant, the Lizard Knight, has been sent to gain the aid of the great warrior Amamiya Yuuhi in hopes of finding the Princess Samidare and protecting the planet from the incredible 'Biscuit Hammer' poised to crack the Earth in two. Unfortunately Yuuhi wants no part of it, and the Princess doesn't prove to be the shining 'hero of justice' role model that Noi had hoped for.
The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer is a very light hearted series with a set of very interesting characters. The world is about to be destroyed by a giant Biscuit Hammer falling from the sky, and its up to the 12 Beast Knights to stop the mage from doing it. The mage himself has 12 golems which he uses as his underlings.
Yuuhi is a regular college student who could care less if the world is destroyed. When he learns that Princess Samidare only wants to save the world just so she can destroy it herself, he becomes interested and teams up with her. The battle becomes 3 ways, with the Golems vs Beast Knights vs Yuuhi + Samidare for the sake of planet.
The "supernatural" is kept to a very minimum in this series. Each knight is given a small psychic ability called "domain control", which allows them to manipulate the space around them. From here they use their own creative talents to stretch or control their space as they see fit, creating lots of different ways to use them. Since there isn't much unnatural forces at work in the series, the story is very believable and doesn't go too far in scales of power.
What really helps LBH stand out from other series is the characters. They're just fantastic. Oh, and the artstyle is just a personal favorite.
