Genreal giant knowledge. Help?

  I was wondering some good ways to play a giant, is I should do the shield+ claymore thing. And what kind of weapon/weapons are good for wming on a giant?

  For strong windmilling you should use dual maces (Warhammers if you have the dex for it) that will yield the best results.

  But, I find the 2h Weapons like Battle Hammer/Broad Axe to be better than morning stars. >.>

  You'd have to ask more specific questions. Giants have a lot more depth in terms of weapon choices than the other races. In terms of flat out windmilling dual warhammers is in theory the best but dual iron maces are obtainable and only a few points less damage. 2H blunts will grant a slight range increase and certain ones will give you more stun for easier spamming. If you prefer N+WM all bets are off~
  
  Claymores are not really worth it on a giant, the Vale's Great Sword has almost identical stats for a third of the cost/upkeep. If you're using a shield you're not really going for an offensive set-up anyway so weapon choice doesn't matter quite as much. Vale's shields are costly though and adding the cost of a claymore (for looks I guess?) would make deep indentations in your wallet.

  Giants are more about powerhouses and tankers and awesome melee gameplay than looks. Atm, I hate Nexon for it, but, if you want looks, go for something else. But, if you don't, GO GIANTS!
  
  I think the two depend on preference, so I will list a Pros/Cons list, very basic.

  But, it depends on what you like.
  I say there are a few different types for a few different people.
  
  1. Sword + Shield
  This weapon choice goes for shields, and is UNECESSARY for Charge, due to the fact that Juno told me you don't need a shield.
  2. Dual Blunts
  This goes for power when doing normal attacks (Not Combos, just N+3 or whatever). Very good for Field Killing.
  3. Huge Blunt
  2H Giant-Only Blunts are amazing, especially in dungeons. They have splash damage and range higher than any others. (My Personal Choice)
  
  Your choice out of those, and when you choose that, there are a few choices, and lots of times, people start with one and go to another once they have enough balance or crit.

  10% balance is only 40 dex worth though, and the weapons should really be compared fully upgraded rather than fresh off the forge. Splash on human weapons doesn't seem to translate for giants so I'm not sure if a claymore retains that advantage. I haven't actually tested it.

Your analysis holds up in that the Claymore is better later on and the VGS is best early, though I would contend the VGS remains better all around unless you're trying to do tons of damage with a sword/shield set-up.

  I haven't tested this extremely first-hand, but the semi-hiatus months when I used a claymore, there was like, no splash. Atleast compared to the Battle Hammer or Great Mallet I recently used/using.
  
  Easy to say, If you enjoy/love splash, don't get a sword...
  
  No...I still think that the Claymore is better when you have the Balance/Dexterity. There's not MUCH difference, but, I'd still say Claymore.
