What is yia.exe?

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. The content is provided as-is, from the moment of the last backup taken of the database in 2019. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

I allowed it at first, but then one of those fake anti-virus programs popped up, so I got Trend Micro to block it. Now, whenever I try to start up Mabinogi, Trend gives me a message that "yia.exe" is trying to start up, but it's blocked. It seems that after I blocked it, I can't start Mabi :/

After a quick search on google, I'm thinking this is some kind of trojan or spyware? Not sure where I could have gotten it from since I've only been on here, youtube, and dA. Should I do a scan from a boot CD or is there a faster/easier way to fix this?

I can't run the thing in the first link because Trend blocked the website and won't let me unblock it :/

I think I'm just gonna run the boot CD and see if anything comes up on it.

Have you tried turning off trend to go to that website?

I ended up having to go into safe mode to be able to access it, and it still wasn't helpful. There wasn't anything on there I could download and use.
I think I'm going to have to get my dad to take a look on my computer to kill it :/

EDIT: Turns out that may not be necessary. I did some digging around in the registry and was able to get rid of it myself.
